Shooting Outside White House Interrupts Trump Briefing
The Secret Service says a man told a uniformed Secret Service officer that he had a gun and aimed an object toward the officer, who fired his weapon. The man was taken to a hospital.

Even if he had a loaded glock, it was exactly that. Near the White House is not where you exercise your 2nd amendment rights and expect to live. I don't know the guy. Don't mean to sound like a $hitheel, but I have no reason at this point to care. It sounds like he made a serious error in judgment and threw his life away. On purpose? By really $hitty judgement? After being abruptly rushed out of the White House press briefing Monday, President Trump came back to the briefing room, saying the situation “seems to be very well under control.”
He told reporters that he had been escorted out of the briefing because there was a shooting outside of the White House.
"I'd like to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick and very effective work, but there was an actual shooting, and somebody's been taken to the hospital. I don't know the condition of the person. Seems that the person was shot by Secret Service, so we'll see what happens," Trump said.
Asked by CNN’s Jeremy Diamond if he was taken to the bunker under the White House, Trump replied, “no, we were taken just out to the oval office.”

How come, everywhere I look for the story it is about trump being briefly moved out of the briefing room and his comments on the incident (normal and level headed for a change), but I cannot find out anything about the nut ball with the gun outside the White House and all the report are from major news, and distant tv stations and news papers but nothing from Washington, DC. Don't those people have a tv or radio station up there for local news?Trump was pulled from briefing room. Has now returned now.

WASHINGTON — (AP) — A uniformed Secret Service officer shot and wounded a man during a confrontation near the White House that led to President Donald Trump being abruptly escorted out of a briefing room during a televised news conference Monday, authorities said.
The White House complex was not breached and no one under Secret Service protection was in danger, said Tom Sullivan, chief of the Secret Service Uniformed Division.
The name of the man, 51, and his condition were not released by Sullivan. The District of Columbia fire department said the man suffered serious or possibly critical injuries.
