Exactly. Trump might not have given them what they wanted nor got everything he could have hoped, but China thinks we are corrupt, that we can all be bought out with money, they tried to bribe and coerce Trump, and Trump told Xi to go sit on it and spin.

China might not like it, Trump's resolve to go his own way free of them might concern them, but the Chinese respect strength and principle, and that is what they got from Trump.

And that more than anything else is what will most impede China from taking action against Taiwan or for Iran. Trump is a big uncertain variable to them, like a bomb rolling around loose on the galley that might go off at any time.

Best China can hope for now is to knuckle under and try to ride it out until Trump is out of office in 2029 and gamble that next president, they get another democrat in office willing to suck Xi's ass.
