Wise words from Ronald Reagan.

If he ever had a Republican Congress I think we would have a Balanced budget Amendment now.

I’m sure the Reagan haters will chime in to attack him, and nothing he actually states in this.

OK. Let's leaf through this mostly edited yak (which is what Musk did) of manure, keeping in mind this was five years before Reagan took office. And also, that Reagan is widely acknowledged as the father of reckless tax cuts and modern deficit spending.

00:18-00:33 - Musk inadvertently cuts together Reagan's flimsy excuse for not keeping corporate taxes higher and winds up spilling that it's EXACTLY what Trump's tariffs would do. :auiqs.jpg:
Thanks Elon. I'm all done with billionaires telling me why they should get tax breaks. Because that's all this statement is.

4:38 - Balancing the Budget. This is worse than hysterical. Again, Reagan is the father of modern deficit spending. So Dutch just cuts taxes and spends...viola. You want to know why the deficit is so bad...look no further than Ronald Wilson Reagan. This is where it all began.

Look, I get it. The long dead ghost of Dutch Reagan is your guiding light. Unfortunately, trickle down economics (which is what Reagan is espousing here) doesn't work.
One of the many reasons why conservatism as a core ideology fails.time, after time.

My response was exactly right.
Didn't have to wait.
Reagan, Trump and Musk whine about the federal government, and how it's broken and evil.
Then get elected..........And PROVE it.
The "whine" has to do with an entrenched, overgrown, bloated, and over powered bureaucracy(a.k.a Deep State) which wasn't foreseen nor proper planned for by the Founders and the Constitution. A "bureaucracy(a.k.a Deep State)" that has Legislative and Executive powers outside of the constraints intended in the Constitution.

The other half of the federal government is the elected offices, and they have the duty and task of reigning in the "Deep State" if our nation is to avoid the alternative, which is heads bashed in via revolt/coup.

JFK, who would be a RINO in today's politics, said;
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask instead what you can do for your country."

Alas, the Leftists and pseudo-liberals expect the government(taxpayers) to provide all their needs so they don't have to work and earn such. As the parasites they are, they want the federal government to remain "broken and evil" to fulfill their lazy, selfish, greed and worthlessness.

Hey Stupid, Reagan never had a Republican congress.

He had to deal with that snake Tip O'Neil, where spending originated.

Oh, and Tater will add more to the debt this year than Reagan did his 8 years.

Ronald Reagan tripled the national debt in eight years.

He set the template for every borrow and spend Republican ever since.

Hey Stupid, Reagan never had a Republican congress.
He had a Republican Senate for the first six years of his presidency. And enough conservative support among Democrats to get his agenda (including deep tax cuts and increased spending) into law.
He had to deal with that snake Tip O'Neil, where spending originated.
And he and Tip formed a surprisingly adept pair at getting legislation across the finish line. O'Neill was a conservative Democrat..
Oh, and Tater will add more to the debt this year than Reagan did his 8 years.
Who gives a shit? It all started with Reagan. Cut taxes, increased spending and increased deficits. Reagan took it to an art form. A blueprint for every President to follow.

The Ronnie God promised to do to America what he had done to California, and he did. He cratered the California Economy, drove California into debt and increased childhood poverty. He did to our country what he did California. Fuck Him.

No, Ronald Reagan wanted massive tax cuts, especially and primarily at the top. His Budget Director, David Stockman , preached the political gospel of “teickle down economics”, as promoted by Arthur Laffer.

The theory assumed that a radical tax cut at the top would spur investment, which would in turn make everyone richer. I have no idea whether Reagan said the magic words you’re telling us he never said. But he did say “a rising tide lifts all boats”, which is the same idea.

It never worked. It did not work in 1981. The “Reagan boom” didn’t really catch fire until the Saudis stopped supporting the OPRC pasted price in the spring of 1985.

Bush ran the same play in 2000. He only doubled the national debt.

Your beloved fuhrer borrowed and spent his way through four years.

And, last week he was demanding exemption from the debt ceiling so he could borrow and spend to his heart’s content.

I don’t know why you would believe that anyone in the GOP, much less Trump would ever care about debt.

Under Felon47, the National Debt Doubled. He lost over 1,000,000 jobs. Over 500,000 innocent Americans died of COVID because he willful mismanagement of the COIVD Pandemic. He told over 4,000 lies. He has dementia and shits in his diapers. He is owned, bought and paid for by Mush. He is a disgrace.

Remember when Jerry Brown refused to live in the Hollywood style mansion Reagan built?

What "quote", feeb? That's what Reagan's supply side economics were. :)
I believe his Vice President called them "voodoo economics".
So no quote.

I accept your surrender.

Are you trying to tell us that trickle down economics was the gimmick Reagan sold in 1980?

Or, are you being petty again?

Ronald Reagan never used those specific words.

Instead, he said “A rising tide lifts all boats”, which is the same idea.

I bought it in 1980, because nothing else seemed to be working.

By 1989, when the T-bill auctions were on the front page of the Wall Street Joirnal, and the stupendous debt Reagan ran up was a matter of global concern, I knew better.

So, I didn’t fall for it again with W, and certainly not with that idiot Trump (who, in their right mind, would actually be stupid enough to believe that a real estate developer cares about debt?!).

Oh YES!! Jerry trained to be Jesuit Priest, he found Mansion way to ostentatious for his taste.

I also remember when Nancy Reagan thought the Carter's should vacate the White House so the Reagan's could move in sooner.
