Look dumb fuck, what resources does a wind turbine use after it is put into service? Does it need a pipeline for fuel? Does it need a railroad to bring in coal? So a new coal plants uses 40% of the energy burning the coal produces to make electricity. So 60% of that coal is wasted. That is coal that was dug out of the ground, and transported, often hundreds of miles. A modern gas turbine is up to 47% efficient, so 53% of the gas that had to be drilled for, and pipelines put in and maintained, is wasted. So how much energy was put into the wind? So we are using a resource that is totally free. Yes, because the wind is inconsistent, you only get a percentage of the rated output at optimum conditions. However, nothing is wasted as is the case with fossil fuels.
