Why so much religious condemnation about homosexual sex?

You don't hear Christians speaking against premarital sex? Are you not paying attention?

As for why, I would think it's obvious

Endless ways to phrase a search of course, but some ways I chose to illustrate the differences despite one being 15 times as prevalent:

church rails against premarital sex: 265 News hits
homosexuality: 28,800 News hits

Christian church homosexuality: 66,900 News hits
premarital sex: 3,660 News hits

No need. I've seen enough of the arguments on abstinence education from both sides in the news and discussions to the point of ridiculousness on this board. Just need to search the archives.

Oh and you will see more news stories on homosexuals because the media is pushing the agenda. Not christians

Isn't media pushing an agenda when you select Web instead of News. Hits coming up are from churches themselves. If you exclude News outlets the bias and hypocrisy is apparent.

Exclusive homosexuality occurs in just 5% or so of sample groups, "experimentation" around 30%. So given how much we hear about homosexual from religious groups for a 5% problem, we should be hearing a dozen times as much about the sin of premarital/extramarital sex right?

"Data from the National Survey of Family Growth indicate that in 2002, 77% of Americans had sex by age 20, and of that percent, 75% had premarital sex."

But we don't. In fact, I can't recall a single instance of Christians railing against premarital sex in recent years.

That there shall be no harlot (in Israel); that is, that there shall be no intercourse with a woman, without previous marriage with a deed of marriage and formal declaration of marriage (Deut. 23:18)

"Corinthians 6:9, 2 Corinthians 12:21, Galatians 5:19, Hebrews 13:4 and Deuteronomy 22:13-28, all which condemn sex before marriage"
Three Lies About Premarital Sex Focus on the Family

You would think then when the Bible's absolutely against premarital sex, and 75% of people before age 20 have premarital sex, and just 5% are exclusively homosexual, religion would be addressing premarital sex 15 times as much as homosexuality.

Well, since it is YOUR post, I would have to say that the subject is more on YOUR mind than it is on the minds of others.

Because when I google 'news' it comes up an awful lot.

Then I suggest you get rid of google. Google tracks everything on your computer and your cell phone. Google is the most invasive thing out there. If you don't believe it, run mailwarebytes or some other spyware detection software on both your computer and your cell phone. Google knows more about you than the NSA does.

Homosexuality is like the God issue. The only ones who really bring up homosexuality are homosexuals and the only ones who bring up God or religious issues are atheists. The rest of us pay either issue little attention.

Not googling anything illegal I could give a hoot about tracking. :)

Well, I do a whole lot of searches on my computer and nothing about homosexuality comes up. Must be what you are searching for then.

And it tells me that you are actually searching intentionally for homosexual items. I find one gets exactly what one searches for.

Using this as a target issue can still lead to proof of spiritual healing that applies to all relationships. When it was just issues of abusing women and children, people just blame the perpetrator and punish the person, and don't have as much incentive to treat or cure conditions seen as crimnal. But when it involves spiritually healing and changing people personally by free choice, without judgment or punishment, this process can be studied and understood openly, so coming out with homosexual issues is bringing attention to spiritual healing.

What???? Christians rail on movies and music all the time as promoting immorality, lust and adultery. I remember Whitney Houston getting criticized for her song about an affair with a married man, not to mention the protests over Fifty Shades. The Christian music industry is a conscious effort to segregate from the material world or flesh. It was a big deal when Amy Grant went into secular mainstream pop. There are entire ministries constantly harping on media and tv for popularizing "sexual immorality and adultery." This has gone on forever, and the insistence on pushing gay themes thru Hollywood just spurred on more and poured fuel on the fire.

Fornication is likely a leading cause of homosexual experimentation. And homosexual experimentation can lead directly to sexual and gender confusion.

Apparently LittleNipper homosexuality causes massive confusion in adults like Delta4Embassy, who was arguing that Christianity causes worse abuse than BDSM "which is consensual" while pornography causes no harm.

Actually, they do rail against premarital sex while arguing for abstinence and against abortion
What do they not bitch about??

Missionary, lights out, only to make a baby and don't enjoy it.

No, actually, they bitch about that too.

LittleNipper

Fornication is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm happily married with an active sex live and I'll bet that what you likely call fornicating, I probably call good, clean fun.

And, just because you were or are confused about your sexuality doesn't mean the rest of us are. Indeed, I knew from a very early age that I'm hetero while my gay friends ALL say they knew they were gay.

Bottom line is always the same - religion needs to mind their own business.

Well, by forcing gay marriage into public laws (instead of resolving issues by mediation that respects other people's beliefs and consent equally), and by suing and fining businesses for not wanting to photograph or attend gay weddings (instead of not harassing anyone by forcing them to do things against their beliefs if the point is to AVOID harassment over these differences), that became everyone's business.

actually, you didn't hear a whole lot about homosexual relations until gays took it out of the bedroom and into the courthouse......
