Zone1 Why is the US the best country in the world?

Insurance is not free and insurance companies make record profits

In the United States we can shop for our healthcare insurance and choose what carrier we wish to use. Healthcare insurance is subsidized by the government for many. Yes, insurance companies make profits.

I used to think Australia could be a possibility, but given the Left’s import of antisemitic Muslims, culminating with the mass murder there, it sure isn’t any place for a Jew to move.
Possibly not for a person who puts their religion before their nationality.

Are we to infer from that you think it a good system?

In the US, we choose our insurance plan, set our deductible and out-of-pocket max, and control our costs. Either way, we all pay for major care—one spreads it across a lifetime via taxes, the other lets us pick the plan that fits. No free lunch, just different ways to foot the bill.
And hugely different levels of exclusion. You know, like everyone included compared to those left to fall through the holes.

Like the comparison of medical bankruptcies. You know, effectively none and the most in the developed world.

The UK guy’s heart valve replacement wasn’t “free”—he paid for it over decades through taxes and National Insurance (average ~£1,500–£1,800/year per person). Everyone chips in for the NHS pot that covers big procedures.

They pay more taxes then we pay in America plus a VAT tax on every sale. Living space is much smaller than we have. Its like America in the 60s

And those murdered Australian Jews out celebrating Hanukkah put their religion ahead of their nationality?

You are a deranged leftist. Right down to contempt for Jews.

Is it a perfect system? No, but it’s the system that I’ve grown to understand and know how to use. It works for me. I would say that it’s a good system, but good is a relative term.

At least we have an airforce. My country of birth only has transports and helicopters now (NZ).
Ocean surveillance aircraft too. When we had Skyhawk attack aircraft the only use they ever got was to fire a burst of 20mm across the bow of a fleeing Taiwanese fishing boat that was outpacing the patrol craft.

I'm glad the Clark government dumped them, even though we were then screwed by the US in their fit of pique when it came to disposing of them.

I wish we hadn't bought the latest tranche of hardware from the US. I'd feel a lot more secure if we didn't depend on US software and support. The US is not dependable since it has weaponised every dependency it can.

That's the whole thing with the US system, it works for those with access to it.

Rather you than me, especially if you're dependent on your employment to obtain health insurance and lack the health security to easily change jobs or go independent.

That's one of the first things US immigrants here comment on. The security of the health system.

Interesting opinion, so what country’s aircraft do you feel could do a better job for your country?

You may not be aware but anyone can get healthcare insurance in the United States. We now have the PPACA insurance exchanges for those who can’t get a policy through their employer or cannot afford insurance. Countries that have the single payer system where the government pays for the healthcare insurance through taxation, wind up with a two tier system. Where those who can’t afford to pay get PMI (private medical insurance) and those that cannot are stuck waiting in line for the NHS.

Some Americans do that, some don't. I neither know nor care if there is a "better" country in the world than the US. Depending on how you define "better" maybe there are several, maybe none. Who cares? The US just happens to be the best country for me.

Unless you've tried other places, you don't know that to be true. You could be just too stupid or lazy to look elsewhere.

Anyone is better than the USA right now. Canada bought a bunch of F35's 10+ years ago. We're still waiting for delivery, and have now cancelled the rest of the order.

You believe anyone is better than the USA, right now. Yet, we are still the nation that everyone turns to when they have a problem. We are the nation with which everyone wants to trade. No one looks to Germany or Japan when they are worried about another nation might attack them.

European, Asian. They'd be less likely to weaponise supply and support than the US.

Hilarious. The American immigrants love this inclusive health system, especially the employment independence it offers and the absence of medical bankruptcy. It's one of their recurring comments.

They acknowledge this system isn't perfect, they much prefer it to the one they came from.

What world do you live in? The Alternate Reality world?
Denmark certainly looked to Germany and the other European nations when they were worried the USA would attack them.
Stop slurping the propaganda.

The USofA's construct elevated our quality of life in under 200 years what other nations could not achieve in 2000 .........some of y'all might remember what that is.... ;)~S~
