Zone1 Why is the MOU with Iran a "bad deal?"

I see the MOU with Iran as a step towards peace in the Middle East and stability for world energy supplies. Why do any of you see it as a "bad deal" for the US? Please be specific and indicate what alternatives you now support.

Personally I believe that if President Trump and his team made a deal with Iran it must have many good aspects to that deal or they would not have signed it.

That is a knee jerk assumption by a rogue editor.
The US lost the war to Iran. There are 13 dead US service members. The IIRG is stronger, richer, and has enriched uranium. With Trumps blessings to keep their missile program.

That's not a knee jerk assertion.

It is a knee jerk assertion and you saying 'nuh-uh' doesn't make it so.

I've been following this war for a year now. News articles American, Israeli, and Iranian, plus American and Israeli OSINT channels on X. I know more about this than you do. I say that with the utmost confidence.

The situation on the ground does not match your perception.

Your reaction is knee jerk, TemplarKormac.

The facts are what they arer.

It is a bad deal relative to what the geopolitical situation was prior to the war.

Ultimately this is basically an exchange of cash for turning Iran's infrastructure and military capacity back 15 years.

Postwar, without any viable alternative, a peace deal is better than the economic and political consequences of continuing it. Not to even speak of the very most important, that of life lost during war.

The entire war on Iran was based on a fraud, that Iran wanted a “nuke”

Iran wanted a nuke as badly as religious Jews want bacon and for the same reasons. Iran issued a fatwa against nuclear weapons

It’s as if Iran said, “we have to attack Israel before they take all our bacon!”

It’s all madness

Please be specific: Do you mean before Iran's military and nuclear program was destroyed?

How is this an exchange? Iran's military has already been destroyed. Who is giving them cash?

So you approve of the MOU?
Not to even speak of the very most important, that of life lost during war.
Who's loss of life are you referring to? American, Israeli and/or Iranian? Do you blame it all on this war?

I mean Iran just being where it is located was its greatest asset and advantage which is impossible to replicate as an invader.

The world is giving them cash and they paid a heavy cost, with interest for access to some of that cash.

I am indifferent to the MOU, I just know that it is cheaper that the costs the global economy and the U.S if it remained close.

Lost lives during war refers to any one from any nation that dies due to a war continuing.

Thanks, but emoting doesn't address the OP.

It doesn't matter, the Iranians are going to violate it, so no need to even spend time babbling about it.
