Why is it that republicans fail to realize that the ONLY way to boost wages for the poor...

Why is it that Progloons such as the OP never realize that the only way to truly boost REAL WAGES is via REAL ECONOMIC GROWTH?

One thing you have to understand about lying lowlife scum liberals is they lie. If you think this is really about raising the minimum wage and helping the poor you would be wrong. Its about their hatred of corporations and the rich, its about wealth redistribution. This is why common sense counter arguments just bounce off these freaks, they don't really care if it helps the poor. They didn't really care about the spotted owl or the desert tortoise, those were just a way of attacking the timber industry and cattle ranchers. Of the 50 ranchers who were grazing their herds on public lands they had ran off all but one with desert tortoise environmental regulations. Meanwhile the desert tortoise was getting in the way of some Democrat supported development so they had a bunch of the tortoises killed. See what I mean?

...is to the raise the minumum wage? You people whine about the poor on welfare yet you are too dense to realize that the only way to break the cycle of poverty is to force employers to pay more. IF the minumum wage is raised, far less peeople are eligible for programs like food stamps. Problem solved.

This really isn't hard to figure out. Corporate profits are already at an all time high. The wage gap in this country is staggering. Where is the incentive for these "job creators" to choose to raise wages on their own accord? Why invest in a strong labor force when it is just easier for them to keep the ridiculous amount of money they already earn? The US has the widest income inequality gap in the world. Pathetically, you people call what I am saying "envy" and it's so moronic. This is an economic issue that will eventually affect the entire economy. If the poverty in this country continues to grow and the middle class continues to shrink, the economy will continue to destabilize and more crises will occur. This economy, small businesses especially, depend on consumer spending. Consumer spending can't flourish based on the current climate.

18 million people make less than 10.10 per hour. How many more make less than $15 which is the wage one must be able to live off of based on current inflation?

Exactly how do you expect businesses to absorb the higher wages, higher payroll taxes and higher workers compensation insurance? Those are just the direct pay related costs, there will be more.

:desk: Raise prices. Oh wait if they do that the new minimum wage won't be worth anymore than the old minimum wage. I guess liberals are idiots never mind.
The price raise would be Pennies on the dollar. Over time the boost to consumer spending will lower prices.

I have never in my life seen prices being lowered...On anything. And I'm not talking about a store running a sale for a day or two....
Once prices are raised they seem to stay there or go even higher.

Consumer electronics are the only thing that comes to mind that have gone down over time.

Again why doesn't the left lead by example? Unions are heavily invested in corporate stocks, why don't they agree to give up their retirement savings profits from these corporations to fund wage increases hmmm?

Bill Maher had a guest on his show recently and they were discussing housing costs around the country
and what those costs were for a 2 bedroom apartment and how is it possible for families to pay for that sort of housing
making minimum wage...

The prices ranged from $1500 to $2500 or thereabouts.

Excuse me but what the fuck are people doing working a minimum wage job and having
a bunch of kids.

They graduated Democrat schools and can neither read nor write

Eliminate the minimum wage! This was the first piece that my kids watched and knew that the Minimum Wage increases unemployment, increases all our prices and it hurts the poor and the less educated.

Businesses will inevitably benefit from the boost in consumer spending from bigger paychecks.

Except that when minimum wages rise, so does everything else, so they have no more bigger paychecks than what they had as before. In other words, they are still in the same boat as before.
We will have half a million people laid off (according the CBO) and low income as well as fixed income in a bind because they can't afford the higher prices of things.

I say: Well, well, well, so businesses can pay the executives and CEOs obscene amounts of money. But they can't afford minimum wage increases for the poor? This is classic class warfare. Why do you expect the tax payers to pay for WalMart and McDonald's workers food stamps? When McD and WM refuse to pay fair wages to their employees, we the tax payers pay for their social services including Medicaid and food stamps. Either way, either the corps pay for this expense or you and I have to foot the bill. Which option do you prefer?

You aren't very bright are you Savior?

Did God tell you that Communism is the way o go?

When will liberals realize that the only way to boost wages is for people to qualify for better jobs? And why did Dems stop school choice when it was working to give poor students a real chance at a better life?

No, the left thinks throwing money at things is the only way to handle problems and it never works.

What Social Services are really working and helping the people?
The ones that are not working, needs to be gotten rid of.

The Businesses do not pay their CEO's that money, It comes from the stocks in the Company.
CEO's get a yearly salary from their company and the extra money they get comes from the stock markets.

They know that, but are more concerned with winning over ignorant people with shit that sounds good. It's a temporary and ineffective solution. Long term solutions are just not an area where liberals excel. I am convinced that the left doesn't want to see people actually elevate themselves or they will have nothing to campaign on. They want to change this country and they need to convince people that this country is horrible in order to do that. Allowing things to work would only show that this is a great country and there are opportunities for those who strive to improve.

Um no because any higher costs that result won't come any close to offsetting the raise in wages

Yes we do need more skilled workers. How do you propose poor people acquire these new skills?

Yes it does.
You just go ahead and believe in the vicious circle and that it really does work.
The Democrats are counting on it.

Give incentives to companies that do on the job training.

American's have NO idea how deep the problem goes, the High Tech jobs are going to foreigners because they are better educated than American's.

Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.

Paraphrase: The definition of .............. is doing the same dead end job over and over again and expect a higher wage.

Fill in the blank with "stupidity", " incompetance", "laziness", "freeloading", "being liberal/Democrat/idiot" and you have the best argument against the idiocy of the idea of a minimum wage.
