Wrong. Not a single war production industry was owned or operated by the government. Some shipyards were government owned and operated. Buit things like Boeing, Lockheed, Ford, GM, Studebaker, and so on were all privately owned and operated.

Went beyond rationing to complete government control of the economy.
They told Ford you can’t manufacture cars, you will manufacture airplanes
