Why do people refuse to do the research?

I have researched health issues for many years and today, the internet makes it easy. I have numerous books on the topic, subscriptions to newsletters and websites, and have read numerous white papers on various health issues. I do not consider myself an expert, but I am confident I know a great deal more than nearly all Americans, including most doctors.

I can't even get family members who are in poor health, to regularly take a good multivitamin. WTF is wrong with people? Are they just too lazy to spend time researching health? The internet makes it easy, yet many are still unwilling to spend the time even though they are ill.

Why are so many Americans totally dependent on their doctors, for their health? This is equivalent to selling your soul to the devil. Most doctors and physicians know NOTHING about diet, nutrition, and supplements. They poo-poo them usually.

Has anyone else experienced this?
You've got the internet, and now you know more than most doctors.

Riiiiiiiiight.

Doctors aren't dietitians.

Doctors word hard doing what they're doing, and some of them are very wrong.

Like when my father went to a doctor three times and said "I think I've got cancer", the doctor sent him to a psychologist instead after dismissing his worries, the psychologist then told him he had cancer and he was lucky it got dealt with early enough.
Some Drs are dieticians, some are not.

Not every Dr is perfect
Thinking you know more than you Dr because you read about it on the internet is silly.

Many Americans consume several so call diet sodas, very day. I have to believe many of those people end up with ailments later in life.

Show me your clinical research and double blind studies.

I suspect you two idiots think the internet is for insulting people and watching porn.

Many great doctors have published numerous studies and research papers ON THE FUCKING INTERNET. Did I just blow your small minds?

...and can you believe it????...

Doctors have actually posted their lectures ON THE FUCKING INTERNET. WOW man ...just Wow!!!

Spend some time here...DoctorYourself.com: Andrew Saul's Natural Health Website.

and here...http://orthomolecular.org/index.shtml

and here...Dr. Thomas Levy

if you need more, which I doubt...because ignorant people generally stay that way...you can ask me.

I expect a thank you for alleviating you two of your terrible ignorance.

Ninety percent of medical papers I read are on the Internet. In peer reviewed publications published online.

Not in .... curecancerwithvitaminC.biz
Bingo!

You two are the kind of people I am complaining about in this thread.

Ignorance is bliss...for some.

No, I wouldn't say it's silly.

He said he knows more about it than some doctors, and he says he's read widely on the subject, not just internet webpages, but also white papers etc.
And then cites quack research like vitamin C curing cancer.
Go back to watching porn. I suspect you are better at that.

This thread = science denial at it finest. Your Dr. Saul isn't even really a doctor, having obtained his *degrees* in an unrecognized "nontraditional PhD program" and a number of actual doctors have tried to warn people about him.

You gotta be able to distinguish between the snake oil salesmen and the medical professionals. You seem to be having difficluty with that.

I am certain that you do not know that DEATH BY DOCTOR is third leading cause of death in this country, and some experts think it the leading cause.

If you did not know this, then I beg you to stay out of my thread before I am forced to ban you.

you really are an ignorant fuck.

I recently retired from a 3 decade career in EMS , for those of you who may have your own ideas on it, it's 95% taxi service where one sees frequent flyers , and converses with them a lot pertinent to their particular issues.

EMT's are basically 'eyes and ears' for the receiving facility , think of a bartender with a stethoscope ....

What did i learn? Well the best patient outcome occurred when the patients themselves took the time to research ,ask , get opinions ,and have those opinions translated from latin to english.

Many became frustrated with empirical medicine's constraints ,and ventured into alternate medicines.

I was privy to many very interesting stories , some a tad outlandish , some crashed and burned, some seemed miraculous ,ALL were not something the standing medical community forwarded to them

ALL were sought out by the patient(s)

thx

What is it with you conservatives and personal insults?

Does it make you feel good? Does it make you feel tough?

Do you realise it doesn't just make you look weak, it destroys any shred of credibility your point might have had?

If you don't like doctors, don't go to them.

In fact, I encourage you in that decision.

It is always best to educate YOURSELF, rather than depend on a doctor. Though as we have seen in this thread, there are those weak minded lazy people who just do what they are told.

Go ahead and ban me, if you wanna look like a weakling who can't handle a little disagreement.

And again with the insults instead of any refutation.

You are incapable of defending your point.

You are dismissed as irrelevant, but I would suggest you see a real Dr. soon.

Pre-hospital care is some of the most challenging medical work there is and I'm sure that you'd agree that your methods and practices were based on solid research and testing and not on medical quackery.

I encourage anyone with a medical condition to learn as much about that condition as they can. Learn as much as your doctor, learn more. Ninety-nine percent of all medical research is available online as are nearly all medical texts.

Do the research, but learn to distinguish between actual medical research based on studies and someone publishing medical miracles with some anecdotal claims of success.
