And if you are, what would it take to convince you that there is a God?

You can't say "when science says so", because science is predicated on philosophical materialism, so by definition, it can't prove there is a God that exists outside of the material universe (e.x. evolution does not disprove the existence of a God). This is also merely resorting to what another body of knowledge says is or isn't (meaning that if you had been born in an ancient culture, you would be saying that God exists if this is what you had been taught as a child). You'll need to give a more personal description of what it would take for you to believe in a God.

Which Gawd do you want me to be convinced "there is" ???
Or which God am I supposed to believe in ?

There have been quite a few available over the past several thousand years.

I wasn't raised in a religious family. I find the existence of supernatural beings such as gods, devils, angels, ghosts, fairies etc... to be a prima fasci absurd idea.

It's just plain silly.

Only Universe could do that and it cannot ever be mistaken about "itself".

I suspect you have been conditioned to think and believe in "God" because obviously that is a first step understanding concept before finding fuller enlightenment step by step .

Good luck for your next incarnation .

God is, by definition, supernatural so if I ever encounter ANYTHING that could only be supernatural in my life, I'll have to rethink. Until then, I'm an atheist.

It would be very easy to make me a true believer. Give me the same opportunity he gave to doubting Thomas. I cannot make myself believe in a myth.

Everyone should be free to believe as one wants.

No one is free to pester others about their beliefs without permission.

Posting here is implied permission.

I am an atheist because I have no idea what a god would actually be, nor how we could determine if any actually exist.

What would convince me?
A definition of what a gid is
An explanation of how that definition was derived.
A method to test whether any proposed entity meets the definition.

Because it doesn't make sense.

The reasons for there being a God or gods, with logic, prove there isn't.

If the universe is so complex there has to have been a God creating it, then that God is also so complex it needed to have been created. And the one who created that God also needs to have been created, and on and on and on until you realize at some point, something has to have been created out of nothing.

I disagree. We live in a life breeding universe because the constant presence of mind created it and imbued it with his attributes.
