Why are you against universal health care?

A Medicare for All type program. Everyone has access to health care, funded by taxpayers. A British-style healthcare program.
That would be sort of stupid.

Most people can handle their own financial affairs, so why shouldn't they/

Of course some people can't.

So maybe the government needs to set up charity clinics to help poverty affected individual and the indigent? And leave the rest of us alone

The Trump cult will remain against UHC until two milliseconds after Trump introduces his plan for UHC. Then they will always have been for it.
Conversely, when Trump rolls out UHC the purple hair brigade will absolutely hate it.

Yep, we love the idea of long waits even for critical things like advanced stage cancer.

I personally would love UHC, but only if the GOP administered it. The minute the democraps get involved the corruption goes through the roof and halfway to the Andromeda galaxy. Imagine what is happening in Minnesota times a billion. UHC would cost We The People about 20 trillion a year. If there is ever a chance of UHC, it has to happen through the GOP.

Why are you opposed to universal healthcare for all Americans?
It depends on the definition of "universal".

If you're talking about Single Payer, I'm against monopolies because they ultimately and consistently degrade standards, efficiencies and quality. I want a strong element of free market innovation and competition wherever possible.

If we'd be looking at simply expanding the current popular Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage system -- one that provides both a strong government foundation and free market innovation & competition -- to all Americans, I'd be all for it. There are several tweaks that would need to be made, but they can all be done.

And if we continue the health care conversation without a serious conversation about how Americans are so goddamn FAT, significantly increasing health care costs across the board, we're failing to look at the big picture.

We'll certainly never get to a perfect system. But we can make significant improvements on where we are now.

Have you seen how the Democrats operate "free" child care?

So, the first problem is how the Reps and Dems do government. Yet nobody wants to change how they do govt (because the rich don't tell you to want it).

And then all problems from then on are "well the govt is bad".

Change the electoral system to Proportional Representation then. The people get oversight, the rich can't control things. Better for THE PEOPLE.

I agree with everything you said in that post.

And the primary reason America is fat is because America has become a nation of soy boys.

50 years ago America was not fat.

50 years ago less than 1% of the calories in the American diet consisted of soy. We just didn't eat soy.

Today soy is the #1 source of calories in the American diet. Mostly in the form of ultra-processed soybean oil.

I've studied this subject very deeply. And the reason this happened is because of the ******* swamp. They are literally killing us.

One thing America can do about the high number of gastropods in our society is to introduce Intermittent Fasting into the government school as the lunch program.

This will make Americans trimmer as well as saving money by cutting food expenses.

Intermittent fasting, BTW is the new fad for Yuppie Americans, so it should get liberal approval

Well, if the government can "force" people to get a vaccine or they can't work or go outside, then the government can "force" people to lose weight or they can't work, go outside, or get government benefits. Besides, WWIII is just around the corner and America will need every man, woman and teenager to be ready for the new, obligatory draft and taking on the Chinese and Russians, and maybe Indians, who usually don't exceed 400 lbs. and can actually run the 100M dash without requiring medical attention afterward. And why stop with obesity, it is time to stop smoking, alcohol and drug abuse as well. We need the most fit fighting force on the planet or we will all have to learn Chinese and the metric system. You know how hard that is for the average American. For those that don't like the government forcing people to get fit, those that aren't fit go to the front line first to get the enemy to deplete their ammo, then the fit can run in and do the job.

So, take a look around America today.

There is a sickness that is eating us alive. It is a sickness of division.

There are factions in this country, which we call parties, that are so dysfunctional that they cannot recognize the harm they are doing.

There is a saying, and I don't recall the exact words, so I'll paraphrase it for you.

"Beware the man who harms you with a clear and clean conscience, for he believes that he is doing you good."

Look at what the left is doing regarding Venezuela, Illegal Immigration, Law enforcement, and a dozen other topics. What they do, and listen to what they say.

They are absolutely power-mad and willing to sacrifice you AND their own for their beliefs. Get out of line in the Democrat party, and they'll do all but end your life. I'm not so sure they'd stop at that, given the recent assassination of Kirk and attempted assassination of Trump, twice.

Now, you want to give those people the power over what treatments you can get, when you can be treated, but more important than all that.

If you will be treated. If you don't hold the right views, sorry, comrade, but the cancer is just going to take you. We don't have the resources for people like you.

If you are paying close attention, you'll know this is true.

**** universal healthcare and anyone who promotes it.

How to tell us you’re a brainwashed idiot without using the words.

Your people are fat, sick and untreated. Your life expectancy is declining. And the one thing that could change all of that and lower your healthcare costs, you reject in favour of letting insurance companies run your health care.

Because the fastest way to make sure nobody gets healthcare is to demand government provide it for free.
Like Minnesota is providing daycare? The minute the democraps get their hands on UHC the minute there is no money for healthcare. Rule #1 in American politics: Don't give any money or power to the democrap party. Let them ***** all they want, but don't give them anything.

Actually, once the government takes over the health care rackets, there will be more money than ever in the business. Fake patients getting fake drugs and operations, and the money being skimmed by gangsters. Narcotics going out the back door, MRI machines falling off trucks.

More money will be spent on health care than ever. Imagine what the Minnesota Liberal Somalian community could do with this kind of racket like they did with babysitter business. Proctologists make more than babysitters, so there will be a lot more opportunity to fake and skim profits with all of those tax dollars infused into the system.

Of course, actual real patients will be screwed and still have indeterminable waits, and libs will blame the taxpayers for not funding it enough.

Exactly. The democraps have a long list of people who need kickbacks before anything ever happens. Then there is 10% for the Big Guy. We can't afford the existing corruption surrounding the democrap party; adding UHC will put the national budget well over 100 trillion USD. But, if the democrap party stopped all their corruption and also went after the GOP's rampant corruption? If the two parties self-policed and then policed each other and eliminated all the corruption, we could easily afford UHC, free college, free daycare, free a lot of things. And do it all while paying much less taxes.

Why are you opposed to universal healthcare for all Americans?
I am a strong believer in personal responsibility and not taking anything from the government. It’s literally that simple for me.
