I confused you for
Lockback
He said if he had kids he would push them towards skilled trades. No no son, don't even think about college. I know you are really good at math or computers but don't even think about college. Look at me son. I didn't go and look how I turned out.
You stupid ****.

I not only went to college, I got a degree and then worked for 33 years for a major midwestern university.
Asshole. Typical leftist jumping to conclusions.
And if I did have son who was good at math, I'd encourage him to get a scholarship, although being white he'd have a hard time getting one nowadays.
So he would hamstring his kid. Force the kid to live in his world view. There is so much more to the world. What happened to the days when parents who didn't go to college wanted their kids to go to college? It's weird.
it's not weird at all. It's only weird to eggheads who are removed from reality.
As I said earlier, if your shitter won't flush, calling a Humanities professor ain't gonna cut it. Jobs are disappearing for the intellectual types who never added a damned thing to America anyway. Nobody gives a shit anymore about Women's Studies or Indigenous Peoples Canoe Studies or whatever.
The demand for electricians and welders is off the charts. Not everybody is cut out for that but the jobs are there and the trade schools often cover most, if not all, of the costs, helped out by the trades industries
The world has changed by the way. Think about it. Back when my parents moved to this country, they were willing to come here and do shitty jobs to make a good life for us. Look at young Greeks today in Greece. No ******* way they are going to come here and wash dishes to make a good life for their kids. Today, none of us even want to have kids. Something lockback and I have in common. No kids. Too expensive. Not worth it. I have a dog instead.
True story:
I graduated with a degree in American history back in the 70s.
My best friend asked me after graduation, "Well, what are you going to do with that degree? Be a teacher?"
"Oh, God no," I replied. "You know me; I hate kids."

"Come work with me then. We'll have a ball. You're great with machinery."
I ended up in the print shop of a major university. Fantastic job. I loved it ... for a third of a century.
