Your premise is that Democrats are emotional, not rational. (I don't agree but fine). I rebutted in 2 ways. By stating the fact that Democrats in the case of this impeachment would have been harmed and being completely dispassionate about it is hard. And by pointing out that EVERY prosecutor making a case in a court (something that impeachment is) uses emotion to humanize the consequences of harmful actions.

To state that about people going to a rally supporting stopping the certification of the election, making Joe Biden the president, and after that going to the capitol to try to do exactly that is not based on rational thinking .
