What's it like to live in a castle?

Probably very cold and breezy.

After all, they didn’t hang those massive tapestries because they were art lovers. It was to try to fend off the cold of the stone walls.

Tells about the owners of several castles but doesn’t give any details about how it is to live in one.

.....I would think it was better than living like the Native Americans in the wilderness....you had fireplaces [ later ] /solid structure/etc
...I've read on it before.....not much, but some.....humans back then adapted and had their secrets to be ''comfortable''
