Woman gets booed at graduation commencement speech

White House Unveils America’s AI Action Plan

The Buffoon In Chief is pushing A.I.

Well, sure, Trump looks at is as an arms race with China, which it unfortunately is.

UCF graduation speaker

“Whew! What happened?” she asked, turning behind her as the booing increased in volume and one person could be heard yelling, “AI sucks!”

“Okay, I struck a chord. May I finish?”

“Uhh, only a few years ago, AI was not a factor in our lives,” Caulfield said, this time being interrupted by loud cheers and applause from the audience.

Hilarious!

Yea, people don't want AI in our lives, bottom line, but it will be forced upon them just like death and taxes and the democrat party.

Two shithole Schools. Trump University thought it could compete. and look: Arizona and Florida.:auiqs.jpg:

UCF, located in Orlando, Florida, has the second-largest public university enrollment in the U.S. - Arizona State University (ASU) is generally considered the largest public university in the U.S. by total enrollment,

So, which is it.

1). Do we like AI
2). Do we dislike AI
3). Or Linda McMahon, give me some A1.
I want AI as much as I want other WMD's on the planet.

This can't possibly turn out well.

There is no stopping AI and if we don't dominate in AI, China or some other country will. AI will cause a lot of upheaval, but it is only a tool just like any other tool when it came about. What matters is how we use AI and better adjust to it as a nation than other nations do if we want to keep our competitive advantage. My advice to students and anyone else is to get ahead of the AI curve and let it make your career better, not worse. If you are smart you will find a way. If you are an idiot, feel free to spend your entire day on the Internet dissing AI to no avail. There's not much money in that though.
But like A.I. guru, Larry Ellison, says -- you and everyone else had better be on your "best behavior" because they'll be watching!!

So does that mean you've changed your mind and are now for it?

Votto: "Yea, people don't want AI in our lives, bottom line, but it will be forced upon them just like death and taxes and the democrat party.?

You're not suggesting that Trump is "the democrat party," surely. (I know ... don't call you Shirley).

It matters little how I feel about it.

It matters not how we vote about it.

It is coming.

I want it as much as I want the apocalypse, but it is coming as well.

But it's currently the Republicans that are pushing it. So how will that change your vote?

Notice, you hear nothing from the DNC about all the electricity it uses and their garbage about global warming.

Neither party will fight this.
Absolutely correct!! Because "both Parties" are one Party. Voting lost all of it's meaning in early 2025.

I don't know anyone excited about AI either, but I seem to be one of the few who don't get any more freaked out or concerned about it than so many others do.

It's like the technology version of the climate change fear mongers.

As the climate changes, we adjust accordingly. Same as it is with AI. If you are working a job that is threatened by AI, change jobs! Hopefully, before the polar caps melt and drown us all!
People use fearmongering because it works against the poorly educated, the low IQ and the irrational.

People with good critical thinking skills can look at a problem from all sides and make decisions based upon those observations.

I like AI it's really handy to ask Siri, Alexa or Google a question and get an answer. OTOH, I'm less sure about having AI control our government or nuclear arsenal. Shades of Colossus: the Forbin Project!

In short, anyone crapping their shorts at the mention of AI are living in fear and not from a rational POV.

Didn't they complain about Trump cancelling all the renewable energy projects? Including paying more taxpayer money to shut them down?

You’re not hearing because you’re not listening.

15th post
AI is going to wipe out entire industries in the next ten years.
I’m getting less worried about it.

Seems to me that it’ll be a useful tool rather than a replacement.

At least that’s what I think now.

Kind of like computer spreadsheets.

Fear is the basis of anger. The graduates are afraid. They're facing a dark economy under Trump and those whose jobs are threatened by AI on top of their college debt are scared.

  • Past research suggests that anger relates to approach goals and fear to avoidance goals.

  • We experimentally manipulated the superordinate goals of approach and avoidance.

  • Anger was related to approach only if approach was dominant/aggressive.

  • Fear was related to avoidance only if avoidance was submissive/non-aggressive.
Trump has nothing to do with it but of course you have to get in your usual cheap shot.

Based on developments in 2025 and 2026, the Trump administration has taken direct, active steps regarding artificial intelligence, focusing on deregulation, promoting US industry, and utilizing AI for political communication. [1, 2, 3, 4]
