The stigma of being on the government dole has changed with this guy. Now people are proud they dont have to work.

The fundamental here is the concept that Americans are responsible for their own lives, deserve the rewards of their successes, and are willing to suffer the penalties of their failures. Obama wants to change that by taking from those who are successful for the purpose of insulating those who have failed, from the consequences of their failures.

It is the key to the old liberal/socialist "I have mine, screw you.", concept of greed. The "You didn't get there on your own, so you owe me some of your reward.", idea that even though he was not one of those who helped you get there, he still deserves part of what you gained. An excuse to rob those who are successful.

And you are full of shit. The near Second Great Republican Depression put a great many people out of work, and there are still too few jobs for the number of people available. You put an add in the paper for a good job that does not require specialized skills, and there are 500 to 1000 applications. That is not indictutive of people not wanting to work.

Have you ever asked yourself why so many Americans have few marketable skills beyond manual labor and monkey see, monkey do type work? Do you believe that individual Americans have an obligation to make themselves employable?

None of us were born with specialized skills, except for a few who have natural talents that they can take advantage of. Consequently, we all start out relatively equal, and our future lives depend on what we do to get to those future lives. Some work hard in school, and others do not. Some take control of their lives, and others allow life to take control of them. Some sacrifice today to have a better tomorrow, and others live for today and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Still others sit on their asses and complain that the economy is bad, or that government is not doing more to help them out. All those people still going to work in the morning must have rich uncles, or they ass kiss the boss. Couldn't possibly be any fault to the fat ass doing little more than complaining that life sucks.

What is wrong with our country is the Greedy Bastards that inhabit just about every aspect of our nation....energy, trade, banking, healthcare, education and government/taxation.

It's a great read and it is very party neutral...both sides have their share of the blame and most of it revolves around campaign money.

Just an example...do you realize that the price we pay at the.pump for a gallon of gas is less than a third of the actual cost? Who.pays the other 2/3? Everybody...in the form of taxes....taxes to keep our.military ready to put out the "fires" in the middle East in order to keep things relatively stable, the cost of health care for folks.that have breathing issues.in our cities where the air quality is shitty.at times, let's not forget direct subsidation of both the oil industry and the the farming industry(ethanol) economists estimate the true cost for a gallon of regular unleaded to be between $10-15. If we were.paying that at the pump, there would be a revolution...but because.it's hidden from us, most don't even pay attention...unless it goes up a significant amount at the pump.....that's not to.mention that we are funding people who don't ******* like us.

Obviously...he goes into much greater detail than I can recall off the top of my head....but it's definitely worth the price.of admission.

What is "fundamentally" wrong with "America".......interesting question.

"Fundamentally", we were supposed to be a country founded on little to no government - run BY THE PEOPLE. The TRASH that we send to Washington moves in and becomes Kings and Queens and they answer to NO ONE. They make life-long careers out of "governing" as they set up their little "empires". "Government" has quadrupled 10 times over since its founding and continues to consume ALL it touches - like the proverbial "monster" that it is. The "highest" rate of growth in America today? The Federal Government. The highest priced real estate in America? Inside the Beltway.

"Fundamentally" we, as a nation, have given far too much authority to people that the majority of us wouldn't have dinner with, take home to meet our parents, have even a modicum of respect for, and, frankly, don't like - whether that have a (D) or an (R) behind their names. Our government was never supposed to be this way.

"Fundamentally" over the years we have went from a nation of people that believed in "stand or die" to a nation of "victims". We have went from a nation of "builders" to a nation of "destroyers". We look to "Uncle Sugar" to "take care of us" - where once that would have been a despicable proposition and, whom most of us, would have told to "kiss our ass".

We tolerate the "minority" and bend to their will willingly - whether it is justifiable or not. We willingly give up traditions of the majority to please the few. One slip up in front of the "politically correct" in this country can lead to the end of a career, jail time, and outright banishment ( that is, unless you are on the "correct" side ) Say the wrong thing now, and it's your ass...


Thats how this country has been "changed fundamentally" - and is dying a slow, painful death.
