I am concerned that the Left Wing in this country is trying to fundamentally change the way the US has operated for the last 250 years. How can we let them pursue their utopian dreams without destroying what the rest of us cherish?

It used to be that the concept of sovereign states would address this problem. But the growth of an all-powerful federal government has reduced this to little more than window dressing. Now, control of the Executive Branch can result in control of most aspects of our personal lives.

Many will say that this applies to the current Administration, and they may have valid points. But the larger question is why either side should have the power to enforce their will on the other. Since state boundaries have become little more than arbitrary lines on a map, it seems that more definitive distinctions need to be made.

Perhaps our original Articles of Confederation need to be reconsidered?

Certainly, the independence of individual states and their sovereignty has dwindled since the Civil war.
States are dependent on funding from the Federal government for a variety of projects, including healthcare, education, social services, and public safety programs. These funds are essential for maintaining local infrastructure and addressing community needs.
As each year and populations grow the need for more Federal funding is sought by the States.
Something that the Federal government should return to the states is education.

Spoken by someone who obviously knows nothing about the disaster that was the Articles of Confederation and the troubles it caused this new nation. Laughable to even consider it!

No
It was a failure
It was freedom. No real government to speak of and opened us up to outside interference. Today freedom and getting checks and benefits from government and having millions of government, monopoly, privileged union, government contractors, etc employees of all governments in our nation is tough to keep. Two trillion dollar deficits now at the federal level and many state, city and local governments with fiscal issues.

It's been a while now where you win 50.1% to 49.9% and you take that as a mandate to cram your values down the 100%. And, democrats took it even further by creating a very large deep state, all the way up to intelligence agencies and the MSM.

Deep State is Republican

Why don't you stay in your shit hole and leave the rest of us alone?
What makes you think your anarchism won’t trigger a bigger shit hole? There will always be those who try to enforce their will on others. Splitting the country into smaller sovereign parts does nothing to solve that. It actually gives smaller groups a better chance at controlling others, if there’s no possible relief from the outside.

Why don’t you dazzle us with what was so great about the Articles of Confederation?
The Articles of Confederation established the United States of America and provided a framework for self government by sovereign states. It also specified that the national government would only have powers expressly delegated to it. I think those principles are worthy of reconsideration.

Split emotions--while the constitution is far from perfect, every time these morons try to legislate around it, disaster follows. I don't trust ANYONE in our current gov't to modify our constitution in ANY way.

That framework proved unworkable
That is why our founders changed it.

But in answer to your question, the U.S. is better with a strong federal government than with 50 state governments.

The Civil War proved that
