Zone1 What makes Christianity different from other religions?

Between you and me, I wrote a book about morals for children. There is/was no God needed.
Excellent, if you mean God is not needed to have morals. On the other hand, if a child did not have a best friend, I doubt anyone would take the position that a best friend isn't really necessary. When he was young, my husband's father died, proof having a father in one's childhood isn't really necessary either. A spouse isn't necessary. Some people argue including God in one's life is no more necessary than a best friend, a spouse, a parent. Yet all enrich us which is why no one should argue against including God, friends, parents, and partners in one's life.

THIS, my friend, is your "moral" God. I don't give a rats ass if owning slaves at the time was the thing. Your God allegedly made laws that were just and moral, not just for that time but for all time. There would be no reason for the bible to say the below unless it was purely a human construct, which it was, and people who wanted to control others wrote the document because THEY had slacves.

Exodus 21:20–21, which states:

Leviticus 25:44–46, which says:
Correct, you can beat a slave if it is warranted. Just like we can admonish children or criminals.

We are also commanded to treat others as we would like to be treaded by others. So it is wrong to beat a slave or servant for no good reason.

It’s curious you are so against slavery, when lefties fully support “free trade” with China, which uses slave labor camps for manufacturing. Democrats also want to be slaves to the state, and worship the state as their god that must be obeyed.

The UNKNOWN writers just shoehorned Jesus in.

How do you know Jesus said that?
Because of all historical evidence that corroborates the early church.

How do you know Jesus did not say those things? You don’t, it’s just what you want to believe because deep down he hate the message of the Bible and the message and laws by God.

You want to make up whatever rules you want. Like a good secular humanist, you are the highest authority.

I am not a leftie. I am a staunch conservative.

You have no idea of what Jesus said. No one here dies. There is zero “historical” evidence for another is ALLEGED to have said.

By the way is it OK to beat a stranger or your child almost to death if he doesn’t work up to your standards?

The Jews were chosen to bring about the Messiah. So his plan was successful.

chosen by a local's premonition the jews willingly decided to believe for all those fringe benefits they live and die for ...

their messiah is to save themselves the jews, their apartheid religion - nothing about helping their neighbors.

jesus being heavenly would not claim any religion as their own and clearly were universal in all their teachings eventually losing their life to the local select religious fanatics.

They were one of twelve chosen tribes.

Past tense.
Those tribes are no longer around. The Jews imagine that "God" chose them as his favorite. Anyone can assert that. It was very conveeeenieennnt for them to come up with that unsubstantiated lie. In religion or God, all anyone had to do centuries ago was to say "God wanted this" or "I had a vision or spoke to God," and gullible commoners believed it.

Correct, those tribes are not here. Neither the tribes of Israel nor the tribes of Judah, the Jews being the most powerful and prolific of them finally being disposed of in the Jewish-Roman Wars.

A new people are now God's chosen, according to their texts. The Christians.

Consider God is. It's not your imagination that He is and He is speaking to you. What do you bet the first thought that pops into your mind is, "Why me? What do you want from me?" And the answer is, "I want the people to be free from slavery. I want you to gather your people and lead them to a land I promise to you. I want them to be a people set apart, to follow my ways/laws, and in doing so become a light to all the nations."

Now. Consider human nature, the hunger for power and wealth. You see Moses leading the people, and the people willing to go through hard times for him. What's his secret? They learn that the Moses saw and talked with God, and that God has a plan for them and that is why they are following Moses.

Perfect. What you need is a good counterfeit; the people won't be able to tell the difference! Gather your own tribe, tell them that God has spoken to you and has given you a plan for them to follow.

There are those who make a counterfeit for everything of value. You seem to see all kinds of counterfeit gods and even more counterfeits of what is the Word of God. No one throws away or ignores all their money, their gold, their jewels because all of it must be counterfeit, they become discerning so they keep what is valuable, ignoring the rest.

I get that you see the counterfeits, but try to consider--at least at times--there is also something truly valuable with reach that should not be mistaken for counterfeit.

People are "chosen". Funny how that works. You just claim "God" chose your tribe above all others, and viola...you are "chosen".
