What is driving this trade war?

You know what men do, Mac?

I mean real men?

They unfailingly protect their own. Viciously, if need be.

We know the politicians you prefer are not real men and so only protect flimsy things like their pocketbook, their invite to the best parties, their reputation.
The orange bag O' shit is not a man. At best he's a stain on this country with the mind of an eight year old.

Govt workers are trying to survive this ugly godforsaken screwed up work world just like everybody else.
/---/ Gubmint workers have no incentive to be productive and, until Trump, even show up for work.
Hide out, do the absolute minimum, and count the days until retirement.

One of the shining moments of this whole mess was when Trump asked, "who signed these awful deals?", referring to deals he himself had signed.

We've become a terribly unserious country at a terribly dangerous time.
A significant part of the problem is Don's penchant for stamping the trump brand on his reordering of the global economy. Just as he did when he blew up NAFTA, he wanted to remake it in his image.

Problematic because he lacks the depth of understanding necessary to go about it in an informed, methodical way to achieve a goal beneficial to all parties.

/----/ "Don's penchant for stamping the trump brand"
Is that like Auto Pen Joe stamping Bidenomics on his plan and Obama stamping Obamacare on his plan?

That's an important part of his shit show. Trump declared it an emergency. It was not an emergency, or anything close.

But I guess it is, in the alternate universe. Anything to pursue his vendetta.
Booming Stock Market, rising GDP, less than 4 percent unemployment, 3 percent inflation is no emergency.

Trump should have just taken credit for the Biden economy like he did with Obama

Exactly. This could have been easily done without destroying our international relationships.

But Trump doesn't commit to relationships, because he may have to stab you in the back one day.

It's an emergency now. Almost every company we do business with is chopping second half investments. None of us will be able to restart them fast enough even if this all settles down. GDP for the year is at risk.

So much Christmas stuff is made in China and much starts to ship in May. Gets to US in June/July. Gets to retailers in Aug/Sept and is bought in Oct/Nov/Dec. That supply chain is about to break.
Yep. They're not considering any of the downsides here, because they don't know what they're talking about. They have no way of knowing what the downsides even ARE.

Actually, what that shows is that small amounts can make a big difference.

Like you said, Florida is having trouble finding the workers it needs.

That leads to pressure to drive up wages.

A few kids aren't going to stop that.
Yes and I'm waiting to see when Florida wages for these uneducated blue collar workers goes up.

Supply and demand. That's the theory. When companies need workers and can't find them at $15 hr, they should raise wages to $16, then $17, etc, until they find the help they need. But that's not happening. Instead they just don't hire. Because raising wages would cut into profits.

I suspect the next step will either be to go back to hiring illegals when the heat dies down or Republicans will start legally importing more immigrants. Legally. You got a problem with that? You want them to freeze immigration until wages go up for uneducated blue collar workers? That would be a great idea. Tell Trump and Elon that.

Elon is already clammering for more HB1 visas. You and Steve Bannon won't win this one. You're fucking with the real power in your party. Billionaires. And you think they care about you. You're cute.

Foreign policy by blackmail, insult and intimidation may not be the most intelligent long term plan.

It's the strategy of a middle school bully.

But, that's Trump.

There are plenty of workers available at $15 an hour if you dont examine their fake documentation too closely

But when the heat dies down as you call it, how many will still be in the country four years from now?

/---/ You Trump haters and the Commies in China wanted to run the clock out on trade talks. That's why Trump kicked Xi in the balls to get his attention.

Oh absolutely. Trump can't stop this unless he starts going after illegal employers. So that they are afraid to hire an illegal.

This is why a wall is stupid. They'll find other ways to get here. When the heat dies down. Can't Mexican's come here to visit like you go to Canada to see your girl in Niagara Falls?

Sweet; are you suggesting that MACAFLOOZY is the Tampon Tim of the board? Hehehehehehehe, a very good observation, if I do say so myself-)

Harder? Ha!

How is it more expensive? One tunnel costs $1 million dollars and they smuggle $10 million dollars a day in cocaine through that tunnel.

The illegals are smarter than uneducated blue collar workers who voted for Trump.

So now its about insuring a steady supply of illegal drugs for libs

Tunnels are expensive to dig and not that difficult to locate and destroy

Luckily for the survival of our way of life, most people in the country do not share your very skewed views.

You know what's funny? Last year we didn't even know that China was a problem. Because they weren't. During the election, Trump blamed Democrats. Today he's blaming every other country in the world. He's blaming everyone except the corporations and CEO's who did this to our uneducated blue collar workers.

Remember when America was great, uneducated blue collar workers could raise a family on what they made. Trump promised uneducated blue collar workers to bring those days back. He will NEVER. But that was the promise. So I'm waiting.
