What is driving this trade war?

Riddle me this. Who stands to lose that money should we buy from ourselves or someone cheaper?

They have more to lose and we need to increase domestic production.

Unless you are China's Bitch like Mac hete.
China has massive industrial manufacturing overcapacity

If we dont but their crap who will?

Holy shit. Well, there ya go.

This is what happens when authoritarians surround themselves only with sycophants, people who will never disagree. And then, they'll stop giving him any bad news in fear he'll get mad at them. His world then just gets smaller and smaller and smaller.

The world has seen this over and over and over.

It starts at the 1:00 mark.

The first set of Trump's sycophants.

Dp you know the Communist system at all? they outright ban words with risk of jail, Winnie The Pooh for instance because Xi felt it was an attack on how he looks. They banned NBA games because someone spoke about freedom, Hollywood, on and on.

America must win because a world run by Communists is a world of misery and suffering. If I am Trump I tell Tik Tok to go offline until China allows access for their social media, I increase tariffs to 200% and start delisting many Chinese companies who dont follow the rules.

Also, as Ive said before, he should have his team write a speech for him detailing Chinas abuses and speak to the nation. From the poisons they send, to spying, propping up Russia war, theft, human right aabuses and actions against their neigbours, let the American people know why all of this is necessary. The suffering going on in America is self-inflicted! All because of weak leadership who let the CCP take over islands and poison their nation.

Yeah, he just keeps dropping hints. It's like he's daring people not to see it.

This continues as long as enough of the flock believes he cares about them.

Another China cheering, status quo loving parroted rant by Mac1958.
And the cheery on top is including a video of one of the worst Secy Treasury we have ever had.
One so entrenched in political bias, she simply refused to see that inflation was a problem.
Imagine a Secy Treasury that couldn't see that inflation was going to be long term.
And this is your source????????

What is the one (1) consistent common denominator in virtually ALL of Trump's relationships? The ONE thing he will ALWAYS complain about?

It's about how he is "treated". If he feels he has not been "treated" well enough, he gets angry and acts out. This is something that is happening in his head alone. He is the one who decides on the spot if he's being "treated" well enough. If not, here we go.

So in this case, he has obviously felt for decades that he has somehow been taken advantage of by other countries. That they're getting the better of him somehow. So now he's responding in the only way he knows: He's attacking without looking at a bigger picture. He attacks, sees that the results are bad, and then changes course.

I know that Trump's fans think that they'll see a clear, tangible and material difference in their lives once Trump has exacted his revenge on all those countries. The sad thing here is, on balance, they will not. There are larger issues that influence the vector of an economy.

Decades of record breaking trade deficits that have destroyed our industrial base and caused untold hardship to our workers, and you don't know why the policy is being done?

Oh, not to mention the policy was massive discussed and debated nationwide, though TWO elections.

It's a mystery. Put Mac1958 on the job.

/----/ "he has somehow been taken advantage of by other countries."
Not he - WE, you big dope.
Somehow, as if it's in his imagination. US friends and foes have taken advantage of the US market with punitive tariffs for decades. Or do you deny that?
Do you need to see the unfair tariffs other countries place on US goods, while we did little or nothing in response?
Again? Seriously?

Yellen? Really? :laughing0301:

They only know what they're told in their world. I think Trump still believes that it's the target countries who are paying the tariffs.
and you only know what your told in your world mac....we know you think your shit dont stink.....if you only knew...

Republicans told specifically uneducated blue collar workers this is for them. And who’s been screwing them for decades? China? Not the American CEOs who sent their jobs to China. Also Canada, Mexico, penguin island. It’s everyone else’s fault not the American corporations who benefited from it.

Think about our relationship with China. We buy from them because they make shit cheap. Why would they buy from us? Other than we make something they can’t. So no shit we buy more from them than they buy from us.

There is something called a Win/Win situation where both sides get something they want

Trump resents that the other guy gets something

Mac was defeated by Trump. Possessed by the Orange man.
He cannot comprehend what you are saying because he doesn't allow himself to see anything that doesn't say Orange man bad. Everything must equal that. If it doesn't - it can't be.
Giving China most favored trade status, NAFTA and refusing to add tariffs or VAT on foreign made products using slave labor was done for what?? Why did they do it??
So the elites could rake in $trillions. As a country we invested in our own demise. Prior to 1980 China was an economic desert. Over 95% of the population lived in dirt. Today it is an economic powerhouse that has continued to invest $trillions into an enormous military. All financed by us.
We gave them the money to do it.
And where did we get the money? We took it away from the middle class in the form of wages, converted that to profits for the elites.
And Mac1958 with his CNN and MSNBC - are now pounding sand to keep doing it.

What did democRATs tell uneducated blue collar workers who are registered democRATs?

So the elites who raked in billions are blaming China? This reminds me of when the bankers trashed our economy and then told us only they could fix the mess they made.

I think the employees of these elites need to organize into unions and demand a raise.
