Zone1 What is a Rabbi?

If you don't have a clear answer then just give your own personal opinion or what's the point?🤔 .. you're a Rabbi? 🙄
My personal opinion doesn't matter. Yes, I'm a rabbi. Are you? If not, you should focus on learning and not assuming you know everything.

There is no question about any thing's being necessary. The question is about what the tile means and then, whether a woman who wanted to could hold the position.

You can try to invent stuff and then tell me that that's what my responses tell you. It is better to stick with what is actually there, not what you invent, though.
I am not inventing a thing. I am asking a question based on Rabbinical tradition.

You are inventing plenty, not the least of which was the "meaning" you derive after my response, when you insert, "Your lack of any answer at all basically says". This means you are about to invent something. Then you do.

And please show me what Rabbinical tradition (as expressed in the canonical texts) you are basing something on.

Is being a rabbi your side gig? .. real rabbis give answers to questions... They don't post Platitudinous essays and say there's no answer... Like I said rabbis are teachers maybe you should go back to Rabbi School
...

Since when are you some sort of expert on what "real rabbis" do?

Then you don't know anything about rabbis.

Maybe you should learn to respect those who know more than you.

I don't respect people who have no core principles . I haven't seen that from you at all . So how do you earn respect being wishy washy? If You're so learned, you'd be able to answer the question in the learned thoughtful manner.. but you didn't answer the question at all ... I can tell youre not a leader of a synagogue .... you don't come off as a leader generally and Judaism leaders are men not women in that way.... leaders lead the congregation are men.

"A woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for whosoever does these things is an abomination unto Hashem your Elokim."

Reform nutters ..... Anyone who marries two women, or marries two men or performs interfaith marriages are not rabbis they're activists... The largest reform temple in the country 12,000 members😲

"Yes, many Temple Israels across the U.S., including likely the one in Metro Detroit (Farmington Hills area), perform same-sex marriages, as Reform Judaism broadly supports LGBTQ+ inclusion, with rabbis officiating ceremonies for Jewish and interfaith same-sex couples"

You don't know me but you judge me. You mistake those attributes that Judaism's values for weaknesses. If you ever decide that you actually want to discuss Judaism and not your opinion of people, let me know. Gut voch.

I read what you wrote. The question I have is for any female in any traditional male roles: How does this benefit men?
Identity isn't a function of benefit,
actions and their results are.

For example,
the fact that Deborah the prophet was a woman,
isn't of any benefit - without her actions bringing results.

Had you a genuine question, instead of posturing,
it wasn't loaded with "critical gender" bs.

It was a genuine question, so any 'posturing' was a product of your own mind. I know Deborah was a woman, and I also know she was a judge, just as I know that in Biblical times up to the modern day, rabbis were male. Speaking of Deborah, I also knew that it times of war/crisis when male leadership was absent, God appointed women as judges. Miriam was another woman, appointed by God, who held a place of leadership in a Biblical time of crisis. However, women rabbis were not appointed during these times.

No worries. Probably at another time, someone else may be able to help me with my question. I apologize for disturbing you.

Try challenge that Gpt "research" with some critical questions,
before another attempt at posturing as an elephant in a museum.

Miriam was a prophetess herself,
but the attempt to make it relevant
to your question merely demonstrates
parroting something irrelevant, as "smart".

By the same logic you can ask if a rabbi can be a prophetess...

You dismissed a thoughtful explanation out of hand on female "rabbis"..not quit the Rabbi who contributed to my thoughts on the subject ...Rabbis should be a little more humble which why I like Chabad Rabbis 👍🏼

Please explain how these 10 commandments victimize and persecute the innocent.

1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

6 Thou shalt not kill.

7 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8 Thou shalt not steal.

9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

all are corrupt - there are no commandments from the heavens - in itself is the fallacy of all three desert religions found the same in all three of their bibles ...

6 Thou shalt not kill.

moses is a murderer, could that be the reason they destroyed them -

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

the sabbath to keep holy is their creation: life and garden earth - the desert religions fail miserably were it even a commandment.

5 Honour thy father and thy mother:

paterfamilias - a great evil manifested by the autocratic desert ...

et al - simply there are no commandments than the heavenly goal to triumph good vs evil to aquire judgment for admission to the everlasting ... that is abraham who initially defies the heavens with their lies, claims of heavenly personifications the jews use for their own gratification.

Get some psychological help lunatic...were you abused as a child? Where do you people come ?

Interesting conversations, but I am perplexed by two other questions that have been raised: (1) Is Rabbinical tradition specifically for the benefit of men? (2) Are Jews allowed to have personal opinions about their religion?

In Biblical times, rabbis introduced/practiced financial protection and spiritual roles for women. The role of the rabbi was to benefit Jewish society, not just males.
