Trump said tariff was the most beautiful word in the dictionary. He promised tariffs would solve all our problems and put us in control. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. The stock market fell, and financial advisors proclaimed it was a stupid thing to do. Canada and Mexico only agreed to do things they had already promised to do before all the tariff talk, so trump backed down. Mexico even got him to promise to reduce gun traffic from the US. Neither trump nor fox mentioned that trump concession. At the same time, China imposed higher tariffs on us. They won't even pick up the phone to discuss it when he tries to call. That doesn't sound like winning to me. It's more like trump got his hand slapped for being stupid

Trump uses such things as threats to get what he wants. Tariffs were always that. He shouts his mouth of that he'll bring in tariffs in the hope that other countries will shit themselves, and then he gets in and says he's putting tariffs in place, then he waits for these countries to ask what he wants instead of tariffs. It's the "fart of the deal".

Why? Because he thinks it's making the US better, because the US is getting something for nothing. But it's also losing something, respect and friendship which many presidents and congresses have put a lot of effort into fomenting. Trump doesn't understand because he's obsessed with money.
