The stock market fell, and financial advisors proclaimed it was a stupid thing to do. Canada and Mexico only agreed to do things they had already promised to do before all the tariff talk, so trump backed down. Mexico even got him to promise to reduce gun traffic from the US. Neither trump nor fox mentioned that trump concession. At the same time, China imposed higher tariffs on us. They won't even pick up the phone to discuss it when he tries to call. What is happening now that wasn't happening before? Canada made no new concessions. Trump ended up making new concessions to Mexico. China put higher tariffs on us than we did on them, but they are a dictatorship, so they don't care if their economy is harmed as long as it meets their ruler's goals.
