What does the sentencing ruling say about trump's SC?

A Rebuke to Trump Provides a Telling Portrait of a Divided Supreme Court

First and foremost it says trump has four conservative justices who are willing to rule in his favor no matter what. They're all in for trumpery, legality be damned. To paraphrase what Judge Richard Posner once said, those justices make up their minds based on politics and then proceed to find a legal rationale to support their decision.

It says once in a while John Roberts shows concern about the already damaged legacy of the Court that bares his name. But not often enough. He will forever by remembered as the justice who authored the extra constitutional presidential immunity ruling based solely on partisan politics.

It also says Amy Barrett is not always a reliable vote as part of the right wing extremist's block.

She wrote a notable dissent, joined by liberal justices, from a decision limiting the tools prosecutors can use in cases against members of the Jan. 6 mob. And she voted with the court’s three-member liberal wing in March, saying the majority had ruled too broadly in restoring former President Donald J. Trump to the Colorado ballot.

As gratifying as it is to know trump will be sworn in with a label he so richly deserves, convicted felon, the toothless sentencing shows once again how the system has contorted itself to compromise the way in which it holds him responsible for his many crimes. Most of which his use of lawfare has rendered moot.

A quick glance at the SC decisions over the past sixty years proves your claims absolutely false.

The four conservatives in Dotard's back pocket were prepared to use the "weak immunity claim" to protect their Dear Leader. That's a foreshadowing of what is to come.

Why haven’t you mentioned the fifth conservative?

I support this.

That would allow James and Bragg to present all the evidence AGAIN in the media as to Trump's crimes and make headlines for months showing Trump's criminal activities as part of showing that their actions were measured and appropriate in response to illegal activities.

So YES!!! Please do.

Incorrectly filed paperwork. You’re silly.

1. If the DOJ indicted them, and grand juries did their thing, why wouldn't there be trials?

Because their was no crime committed because a prosecutor attempted to prosecute a criminal.

Yes, they asked question during the hearing to get questions answered.

What has their issued decision said?

It says that despite the fact that the OP is mentally listing to port and has lost his keel, the SCOTUS is not the rubber stamp they have been claiming for the past four years.

But it does provide insight into the mentality of the OP that he believes that Justices work this way and his only real concern is that they are not doing this in favor of his ideology. If it were, he'd be 100% okay with it.

It means trump will be the Felon-in-Chief. It means you voted for a convicted felon.

It's not my or the Dem's conviction, it's the jury's conviction.

the lefts lawfare is one of the biggest reasons he won ! he skyrocketed in the polls after the indictments started .. congrats moron !

1. You are not following correctly. When the DOJ indicts Letitia and Bragg for various "crimes" such as "malicious prosecution", "election interference", and/or "violating Trump's civil rights", and a grand jury indicts them, and they go to trial, and the jury finds them guilty, is the sequence I'm advocating.

2. The NY appeals court was not happy with the excessive fine. What I don't know is, "if that appeals court lowers the fine, can Trump appeal again to a higher court to see if he can get the entire verdict overturned"?

There will be no DOJ indictment.

You have not idea what the appeals court decision will be.

What I don't know is, "if that appeals court lowers the fine, can Trump appeal again to a higher court to see if he can get the entire verdict overturned"?

No. That will be the decision by the Fist Division Appellate Courts decision. At that point Trump can appeal to the New York State Appeals Court (which is basically the New York Supreme Court - their names are confusing to some).

Hey numbnut--- if this action truly is that important to you, you are one pathetic motherf-er who has no life. Here are the facts:
  1. No one but a-holes like you care about this horseshit. It is a conviction with no meaning designed just to give people like you who have nothing else in their life to be able to tell themselves: "At least we got this." You got SHIT. And it cost you ten years and ten billion dollars to get a "label." Congrats.
  2. You take the "sentencing," I'll take the won election, the swing states, the popular vote, the millions who have swung over to the GOP, the SCOTUS, the House and the Senate plus Trump's coming policies ANY DAY.
  3. All this really means is that the SC is not legally willing to intervene until AFTER he is sentenced. The lower court must rule first. Typical boiler plate legal process. In a few months, it will be overturned on appeal anyway guaranteed, then all you will be left with is your tiny dick in your hands.
Just ten days to go, French Fry.

The jury had found him guilty based on the evidence.

Hey asshole, the court did not even define "the crime." The jury was instructed to invent their own reasons.
Keep stroking yourself. It is all going to be overturned and thrown out as soon as Trump appeals the sentence to a real court outside of New York State.

The USSC decided that Trump's "Lawfare" case should go thru the appeal process instead of them using the weak immunity claim.

They know that those 34 "Lawfare" felonies stand no chance of making it thru the appeal process.

If jail time and a constitutional crisis was at stake, they might have dismissed the felonies now.

p.s. berg, regarding the Robert's court:
its "bears his name, not bares his name"
Sad but true

The Stalinberg Struggle is REAL!!!!!!! :aargh:
Really PATHETIC

Pretty amazing really that the Left are SO hard up for a "victory" of some kind after losing the White House, the SC, the House, Senate, the election, all the swing states, the unions, the black vote, and the popular vote, Los Angeles, and two of their top presidential candidates, plus having been shamed by their own guy being a traitor who is releasing murderers, spies and terrorists plus his treasonous felon son while doing his best to sabotage the country in a last minute surge of vengeful spite after his own party CHUCKED HIS ASS to the curb, that the Left have nothing left but to try to pretend that after losing ten years, ten billion dollars and endless investigations, hearings, impeachments, accusations, charges and court cases that all they won is A WORD... a LABEL.

A label they can flout between each other stroking themselves for a few months until it is all overturned quickly on appeal to a legitimate court. :auiqs.jpg:

Meantime, the real shit for them hits the fan in just TEN MORE DAYS when the ceiling comes crashing down on their heads a la Trump.

True. But since Trump will not be there in person, but only by ZOOM Merchan's sentence really doesn't matter. There is NFW that Merchan could get Trump behind bars before the inauguration.
The judge’s actions will formally make Trump the first criminal convict ever to occupy the Oval Office.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass noted at the start of the hearing that the charges against Trump each carry a sentence of up to four years in state prison.

But “the People recommend a sentence of unconditional release,” said Steinglass.

“We must be respectful of the office of the presidency, and mindful of the fact that this defendant will be inaugurated as president in ten days,” he explained.

But the prosecutor also slammed Trump for his relentless attacks on the justice system throughout the case, saying the president-elect “caused enduring damage to the public perception of the criminal justice system.”

The Felon-in-Chief. It has a ring to it doesn't it.

A jury of ravenous liberals. Doesn't matter. Conviction means nothing. What it does do is give you libs your daily dopamine hit.

President Trump will start his 2nd term in a few days.
The "felonies" are meaningless, no jail time, so meh.

Trump will go thru the appeal process to get those temporary bullshit "felonies" overturned.
There is no "Felon-in-chief" dumbass, they were unconditionally released, gone, nothing-burgers.
OTOH, the "felon" just kicked Kamala's ass in the 2024 election, so enjoy that little factoid.

No they aren't. Any conversations were about hiring recommendations for applicants in the administration, nothing to do with the court case.

Right Justice Alito?
