Without euros over the past 500 years the world would still be a poverty stricken mess

It was the growth of the US that made them partially viable, both as a source of materials and trade and an outlet for their starving peasants; if those had remained the last 3 centuries would have had entirely different outcomes. Even then they had dozens of wars, including two major 20th century wars that exhausted all sides. Without the US they would have been reduced to Third World shitholes and would never have recovered, especially if the Russians had been more successful in their imperialism agenda. England was reduced to surviving on peddling opium to Chinese peasants for decades in the 19th Century.
