What can republicans do for blacks?

wrong.
nobody benefited more than blacks. Society suffered as a whole.
There are many more women than blacks

Before affirmative action, the only jobs open to women was teacher, nurse, secretary, beautician, cashier

If your wife or daughter is in any other field, you have benefitted from affirmative action

It is silly to assume that change only occurred as a result of Affirmative Action.

This is not 1950, and it would not be 1950 if AA was stillborn, or had been repealed sometime in the 80s.

Don't you hate it?

Things like integration and equal opportunity were about to happen anyway and the damned liberals take credit for it

Logical fallacy of Appeal to Ridicule.

Got anything else to support your claim?
It was your ridiculous claim...not mine

Same old....it was gunna happen anyway

Logical Fallacy of Proof by Assertion.

Can you support your position that social change only occurs from government policy or that if government force is removed, it reverts all the way back?

WIth anything that is NOT a logical fallacy?

No, it did not and it is not.
Affirmative action was a major success for our country

Women benefitted more than blacks. If you have a wife or daughter.....you have benefitted from affirmative action

My wife didn't benefit from Affirmative Action, and it will certainly be an obstacle for my daughter, as she is white.

Does your daughter plan on being a cashier in a supermarket?

Are you only in favor of diversity because it is government policy?

If I had my way and such policy was reversed would you change your mind to conform to my policy?
You didn't answer....does your daughter plan on being a cashier in a supermarket? Maybe do nails in a beauty parlor?

I answered with a question.

I assume that your internal belief system is strong enough to survive the removal of government force if AA was repealed.

You would not revert to 1950s era hiring practices. Neither would I.

Neither would the vast majority of our fellow 21st century Americans.

Thus, my answer is no, there is no need to set such a low goal,

unless of course AA bars her from jobs and education so that a black or brown person could benefit.

Someone probably already said this, but what can Republicans do for blacks? Free them comes to mind. :)

Tell your daughter she could have aspired to someday be a secretary if it weren't for affirmative action

Also remind her that if her daddy's political policies were followed by our country, that secretary would be the best she could hope for

Well, history was trending that way anyways.

Which is why you had support for such government policy anyways.

Do you really think that the men of 21st century American would or could put the women of 21st century American back into the 1950s Kitchen again?

Your misunderstanding of modern Conservatism is to be expected based on the scientifically proven difficulty that Liberals have understanding others.

Yes, when the time comes I will certainly discuss the history of women's rights with her, including all that occurred before and without regard for AA.

By the time the 80's rolled around, AA was seriously questioned. If it was repealed then? That is a very good socio-political question to ask.

Would society rapidly turned into a meritocracy, or would workplace discrimination creep back in?

I think given the type of labor laws, the later would have occurred.

One could argue that bottom line is still the need to compete, making it difficult to justify hiring a less skilled worker just because you identify with them

You are forced to go with the best you can find so your business can survive. That is the case when businesses face stiff competition--more so during market downturns.

My experience in the workplace suggests otherwise, especially my time in management.

When I think of my various bosses, and trying to explain to them why I choose a less qualified white person over a more qualified or senior black person?

I find myself wondering how far my head would bounce after it was severed from my body.

That would depend on your Boss preferences.

Liberal America, 2015

Also, corporate america, 2015, asks what their country can do for them. Constanly, even when they have so much money they hide it offshore. Those ten thousand lobbyists in D.C. is proof of that. The ratio's about twenty lobbyists per one US Congressmen and Senator.

He nails nothing. Look, I just spent 5 minutes listening to this guy and I still don't see what Republicans will do.

do? give them their freedom of course. In the Republican 1950's black teenage unemployment was less than white teenage unemployment!! It was Ronald Reagan who said, "isn't welfare a kind of slavery."

Of course they hide it. It's their money--not the governments. Wouldn't you hide it too? I would.

When I leave my house in the morning, I lock my door on the way out. Why? Because I don't want anybody coming in while I'm not home and taking my property. It's my property. I worked for it.
