Well, it's official

The US has voted with Russia in a UN resolution, and against Ukraine.
BULLSHIT. All the US did was refuse to lay all the blame at Russia's feet as the EU has done, just infuriating Putin farther just when Trump is trying to resolve the conflict.

We're now on Putin's side. We're the bad guys, comrades.
You've been saying that for years. Need I remind you that Russia was our ally in WWII and to this day, say what you want about Russia, but they defend their borders, keep out illegals and protect their traditions, culture and values. They are preserving who they are.

Meanwhile, Europe is a cesspool of ruin and decay with most every western country there falling apart from invasion from muslims. Maybe you should go to Europe and live there, I bet you'd love it.

as usual Mac is lying.

"The vote on the amended U.S. resolution was 93-8 with 73 abstentions, with Ukraine voting "yes," the U.S. abstaining and Russia voting "no.""

You can set your watch by it.

U.S. votes against a U.N. resolution urging Russia's withdrawal from Ukraine

We're now on Putin's side. We're the bad guys, comrades.
The United States, reflecting the extraordinary turnaround under President Donald Trump, joined Russia in voting against a Europe-backed Ukrainian resolution. The U.S. then abstained from voting on its own resolution after Europeans succeeded in amending it.

This requires us to pause for a moment and consider the fullness of the ramifications. Once the Europeans changed the language in the original US resolution to reflect reality, that Russia and only Russia is responsible for Ukraine's invasion, the US would not support it.

trumpian denial of reality, prevalent on so many issues, has now infected our work in the UN. Actually, it's their work. Not my work or the work of any American who still has respect for what is true and what is not.

The world needs this thing to end. Democrats playing the Russian collusion card only makes lefties look like petulant fools.
What else do they have? 50-80% of America is on board with all of his other policies. They are even on board with him trying to end the war in Ukraine.

I dont understand why adding the wording of saying russia was the aggressor on this, would keep us from voting on our own amendment.
Maybe its a negotiation thing?
The world of diplomat speak is a mysterious one.

Since Putin seems to believe that Russia had some “right” to invade Ukraine, it might be that Putin would be insulted by the U.S. saying he didn’t have any legal right to do so. And it doesn’t further Trump’s agenda to irritate Putin at the same time that we are seeking to help get him to stop waging war.

At least that’s my hunch. I don’t know. But it may be reasonable to let the meaningless UN resolution go by the boards in order to keep the negotiations going.

The U.S. resolution was three short paragraphs. It did not mention Russia’s aggression or condemn the invasion. It mourned the loss of life on both sides and said that the United States “implores a swift end to the conflict and further urges a lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia.”

"The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental , nor do they result from from ordinary hypocrisy: they are deliberate exercises in doublethink."
Orwell

You have the vapors, you idiot.
It is true
Up until Trump, we had a decades old relationship with Europe. (I don’t even want to get into Canada, Mexico and Greenland)

Trump has sold out Europe and is conceding to Putin’s demands

Since when is rewarding a butcher for his war crimes smart?
Who said anything about rewarding anything? Trump is looking to ending a war, stopping the destruction, stopping the killing, and leaving two nations in peace. What problem do you have with him trying to accomplish that? That U.N. resolution absolutely would have zero positive effect on the problem.

Since when is rewarding a butcher for his war crimes smart?
Is not voting “aye” on a meaningless UN resolution which seeks to condemn Russia a valuable “reward” in your universe, bug?

If that meaningless tip of a hat for Putin’s ego’s benefit manages to keep Putin moving forward on a path to end the slaughter, wouldn’t it be a worthwhile (albeit pretty meaningless) gesture when it will likely save so many lives?
