A U.S. sanction on Russian oil only prevents U.S. companies from buying their oil.
It doesn't prevent other countries from buying it. . . UNLESS the other countries ALSO make sanctions of their own.

Take the deal. Loosening Russian oil sanctions while they were helping Iran got us nothing in return.

I have to admit and so does Trump, Russia has a fair point. Russians are dying in part due to our assisting Ukraine. Trump really got screwed over by Biden and the Democrats dragging us into that Ukraine BS. That's Europe's problem!
