1) Emma Lazarus was ultra liberal in her political leanings and philosophy.
2) The plaque on the Statue of Liberty is not LAW. It's someone's personal sentiment.
3) Perhaps it IS time to change the wording on that plaque as it is unrealistic to think that the American taxpayer can continue to be burdened with the problems of the entire world. Money doesn't just **poof** appear out of thin air or grow on trees.
