We are literally living Atlas Shrugged

Ayn Rand. I have the feeling she was a dominatrix. She was Jewess and a victim of the Communist system and fled oppression, and I get that. Liberals want the same thing as soviets. Dumb down the masses, pretend ALL people are all the same and incentivize mediocrity . Come to think of it, dosen't capitalism use the same trick?

How was Galt a "sociopath?" How did he off a billion people?

By destroying the global economy. Do you think you can destroy the global economy, of which the food and power distribution network is a part, without killing people?
He didn't destroy the global economy. He simply stopped contributing to it. If the parasites of the world can't figure out how to make a motor that pulls energy out of the vacuum, that's not John Galt's fault.

You think just like all the antagonists in the book: you believe productive men have some kind of moral obligation to provide moochers and parasites with a good life.

No, it doesn't.

There's no place to go, moron. Turds like you are fucking up the entire world.

That ought to tell you something moron.

But hey...there's always the Canadian wilderness...or maybe Somalia

Yes it does. Explain why, Vietnam, when the architects of the war knew it would fail? Robert McNamara knew this from the start...what a minute, you are egging me on, aren't you?

She had no ideas. She spent her entire life reacting to her base instincts
She lived the impression. Unlike you greedy, ungrateful parasites who had liberty handed to you on a silver platter. Tragic that you don’t apppreciate it (or the sacrifices of those who died to hand it to you).

Ever notice that everything for the "public good" always ends with more power for the government and more capability for their intrusion into the lives of citizens?

It has been obvious to me for years. I'm sure that many lefties have good intentions, but their biggest fault is that they naïvely believe that the government actually cares about us, and is the solution to all problems. They (along with many on the other side of the aisle, unfortunately) don't realize just how corrupt the government is. And they want to give MORE power to a corrupt government.

As you said, it's always for "the public good" or "security" or other great sounding things like that. But those are always pretexts for power grabs. I guess it takes some people longer to catch on.

You're wrong about lefties having good intentions. The evidence against that claim is overwhelming. When the scumbags oppose vouchers and send their kids to private schools, you know that what's in the best interests of their constituents isn't their main concern.

I wasn't talking about politicians… but about voters, regular people. And I didn't say all of them. I think that there are many who are misguided and naïve about the government. And evidently they don't learn from history. But yes, I absolutely agree with you about the politicians or elected "leaders."

You do realize that you're talking about a fantasy (and a bad one at that) and acting like it has a basis in reality?
You do realize she grew up in communist U.S.S.R. and understood the dangers? You do realize she took that REAL LIFE experience and created a fictional story to serve as a warning? You do realize that warning is absolutely coming to fruition? You do realize the saying "life imitating art"?

My "lodestones' for the future of American politics are 1984, Ayn Rand and the movie Idiocracy. If you haven't seen the movie, try to buy a copy.

i don't think the voters have good intentions either. They mostly want something for nothing, especially when it comes from that rich guy they all envy. The motives behind the welfare state are not benign. They are sinister. Notice that none of the libs in here are willing to contribute a dime of their own money to pay for healthcare for the poor.

Yeah, there are definitely people who want to take advantage of the system… no doubt about that. I don't want to make broadbrush statements, because I do think that some on the left sincerely believe that socialism is a good thing. And there are tons of people who are simply indoctrinated, and believe lies. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, because It's it's hard to believe that any normal person would be foolish or evil enough to WANT a corrupt, authoritarian tyrannical government. Why, because that would affect them as well, they would be shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak.

Isn’t that incredible? I couldn’t stop laughing at the nitwits on the left during the Obama Reign of Terror. They truly and literally believed that Obama “cared” about them.

Some people will never catch on. They will do as government tells them, even against their best interests.

To think that government knows best when since it was first invented, has proven itself repeatedly to be just another criminal entity, designed to enrich and empower the ruling class. This proves many people do not know history and don’t appear capable of learning from it. The ruling class throughout history has known that a sizable percentage the people are easily controlled.
