Indeed. It was an obvious set-up. God put a couple of barely self-aware beings who cannot even understand deception in a closed environment with another being intent on making them break the only rule.
When I became aware of the concept of original sin it all seemed like a bad excuse built on the shakiest foundation.Indeed.
Poor parenting. What a god.
Thank all the gods Adam broke the rule and sinned, or none of us would be here.
Not that he is real.

All of your arguments are based upon ridiculous renderings of the Bible. Was Adam supposed to sin in God's great plan?
Thanks.

That's probably because the original meaning of that account was lost through time. When I became aware of the concept of original sin it all seemed like a bad excuse built on the shakiest foundation.
Not even the God of creation can foretell "free will choices"...........free will = free thinking. God can know what you are thinking at any certain time but can't control what you will be thinking in the future. Its detailed in scripture.........unambiguous and obvious, man being endowed with free will creates his own fate when he freely makes choices between right and wrong, evil/good, righteousness/unrighteousness.Was Adam supposed to sin in God's great plan?
Thanks.

Adam and Eve aren't real. They never existed. Adam and Eve represent the idea of the first humans to contemplate God.a&e chose their path and asked to know both from the fruit of their choice as granted for the mission to triumph one over the other for their own determination to live freely in the Everlasting - the same fat for humanity - for a free spirit to be admitted into the Everlasting.
surly they were rewarded for their bravery.
you can have any thing you want---make up anything--it's all man made fairytales ...any answer is '''correct'''Was Adam supposed to sin in God's great plan?

Exactly......you just demonstrated free will and the choice not to believe the God of creation, you freely choose unrighteousness over righteousness when you refuse to accept the truth revealed in scripture as TRUTH. To you its nothing but a story because the very thought of being judged does not agree with your character. You either accept or reject that Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself so "you" could have the opportunity for eternal fellowship with God. You have chosen your "god" with a little "g", the god of this world and fellowship with his angels.Come on .. Its a morality tale.

God does not want robots.......He wants free will choices. "For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but, when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding." -- 2 Cor. 10:12 In other words, the buck stops with YOU, you have no one to blame regardless of what you profess to believe........you will be judged by your free will actions and the wheat will be separated from the chaff.
well yeah......the dude pulls a rib out for a woman......and she goes and talks to the 'effin' snake......~S~It was an obvious set-up

Indeed........if there was not a "first" did the egg lay the chicken? What? You believe in the dogma of EVOLUTION, void of any evidence to support that religion? A religion that starts like this........Once upon a time billions of years ago, everything that has ever been came from a little ball of energy called the "cosmic egg".Do YOU believe Adam and Eve is an historical account?

A religion that starts like this........Once upon a time billions of years ago, everything that has ever been came from a little ball of energy called the "cosmic egg".
This energy was so hot that not even the elements could exist..........No one knows where it came from. No one knows just how long it sat around. For some undetermined reason it suddenly exploded and began to expand, no one knows why.
Wait.....there's more, in that explosion only 2 things were created, hydrogen and helium. There was no carbon (the basic element required for life), nitrogen, nickel, iron or uranium. These 2 gases expanded equally throughout an empty space in all directions at enormous speed. In the beginning Hydrogen was the most common......somehow, no one knows how, form these 2 elements alone the stars created themselves. Then galaxies created themselves, our solar system created itself. Then life magically evolved from non living matter.......no one knows how. And that first "microscopic" example of life.....evolved....all the way into people. No creator or creating force is required in this fairy tale as nature simply created itself all from 2 elements........Hydrogen and Helium, which came from nothing......but GRAVITY according to Stephen Hawking. But he could never explain just how gravity came into existence.
*Massive Eye Roll*Indeed.
Poor parenting. What a god.

Boy does that make you the biggest American Conservative on God's green earth.Original sin is man's failure to take accountability when he makes a mistake. If everyone took accountability when they made mistakes or did wrong the world would transform itself overnight.
I don't think I am out to lunch on that. Man knows right from wrong and when he violates it rather than rejecting the concept he argues he didn't violate it. I see that all the time and that's what Genesis captured in the account of the fall of man.Boy does that make you the biggest American Conservative on God's green earth.
But, you're out to lunch on what original sin means as far as it's manifestation on people.
