Voting rights advocates say Trump's executive order requiring proof of citizenship 'could block millions from voting'. Isn't that the point?

I'm all for voter ID, but I'm also for everyone who is eligible to vote, not slipping through the cracks.

There are articles that suggest there are people in the country who do not possess the required documents to prove their citizenship. It's for those people I would say we need to help get their identity shored up.
Since proof of citizenship will not prevent the most common forms of voter ballot fraud, misrepresentation, duplicate voting, and fraudulent use of absentee ballots, it's a solution for a problem we don't have.

Voter ID

That number is so vanishingly small that preventing voter ID laws because of them, is ludicrous.

Even if one citizen is denied the right to vote, that's too many.

I'm not at all suggesting we don't do voters ID, I'm suggesting we make sure everyone who is eligible to vote has the access to get that voters ID

It's necessary due to how easy it is for people to slip through the cracks

No, if two illegals vote they just stole the vote from two citizens.

A citizen is denied the right to vote when an illegal vote is cast.

A citizen is denied the right to vote when they are not allowed to vote because they do not have or cannot obtain proof of citizenship.

True, but even worse is when a legal voter has their vote STOLEN by an illegal voting.

Applying for a copy of a birth certificate works wonders.

Can EVERYONE get that? I mean, I'm seeing stories that say their are millions of US born people who lack the proper documentation to prove citizenship. You are saying these people don't exist?

Yeah. If you were born in the USA there is a birth certificate for you.

Hell they even faked one for obummer.

Allegedly...

Your Brennan Center article says 'not readily available'.

Still no problemo.............

So, this is what I'm talking about. People are citizens...but don't have the documentation to prove their citizenship or to get a BC. My point was, we can have people out there to help them acquire this documentation, get them a BC, then we can have the voter ID.

We are going to the same place, I'm just trying to make sure ALL citizens are afforded the opportunity to vote and not be denied.

Correct. It says there may be other steps needed to get your BC, all I'm saying is, for those who do not have the means, we can set up an agency that does just that.
