Since this thread is about the USS Liberty, I mean, primarily, the fable that Israel's attack on the USS Liberty was anything but deliberate.

As I have mentioned before, this was not Israel's first False Flag betrayal,

Israeli agents in Cairo fire bombed a US installation and staged it to look as if the Egyptians did it so that the US would attack Egypt and sacrifice more American lives for Israel's regional hegemony.

So far, no one has been able to refute anything I've just written and the primary responses I've gotten have only been off-topic insults, slander and evasions.

Finally, I don't know why mature, informed and rational people can't articulate different opinions and do so with at least some civility.

I am civil. You need to rail against the Democrats who settled with Israel for what would be now about 60 million dollars. Stop voting for them.

And you keep ignoring the other friendly fire cases that I've discussed, in addition to the mitigating facts about the USS Liberty attack, such as the transcripts that prove the Israelis did not know the ship was American until after the attack.

Do you also believe there is no way the two American F-15 pilots could have accidentally shot down the two Black Hawk helicopters by somehow mistaking them for Soviet-made Hind helicopters in the 1994 Black Hawk shootdown incident, given the fact that they were clearly marked with American flags and that the Black Hawk is easily distinguishable from the Hind? See my previous reply on that egregious, baffling friendly fire incident. To this day, some family members of the some of the foreign passengers on the two Black Hawks claim the shootdown was intentional. They make all the same arguments you do about the alleged "impossibility" of failing to recognize the target as American.

It is worth repeating again that every reputable historian who has examined the USS Liberty incident has concluded it was a tragic case of friendly fire. Every U.S. Government investigation into the incident has reached the same conclusion.

I don't deny friendly fire incidents Mike. Never have, never will because I know it happens.

The point/distinction you are unable to grasp is that the Liberty incident was NOT friendly fire, it was not an accident. All the available facts, including the years long cover up by the US government, show it was deliberate. Us spy ships are not very effective if they identify themselves to the enemy forces. The firing was not an accident. But the pilots believed it was a ship owned by Egypt. Democrats were paid off anyway. Democrats accepted the story once Israel explained it and the US was paid millions of dollars. Not to bring the dead back to life, but to award damages to the injured families.

If that's the case, why were the Israeli aircraft unmarked? What did the IDF have to hide? If that's the case, why has the US Government refused to conduct an investigation for all these decades?

Three attacks on a clearly flagged US Ship that couldn't have possibly been mistaken for a submarine, or an Egyptian Destroyer, or a freighter. It was clearly a ship with a very large antenna array, not a warship.

If Muslims really enjoyed "killing humans", how was I able to walk, explore and hitch-hike throughout the Islamic Middle East for 10 - 11 months, by myself, without even being insulted?

With a red beard, blue eyes and worn out Western Clothes, I was an obvious Westerner / American but because it is also part of the Islamic culture to be kind and generous to travelers I was frequently treated like some kind of celebrity in the smaller villages and more remote areas.

While hitch-hiking, I was frequently "kidnapped" by my multiple Muslim hosts who insisted on introducing me to his friends and family. I've lost track of the countless hours I would spend talking or attempting to communicate with my "audience" in a busy village square.

It is also a Muslim custom to pay for the meals, tea, snacks etc of his guest no matter how much I protested.
I was told that is is more polite to spit into your host's face than to attempt to pay while in his company.

I was both grateful and surprised at the degree to which the Muslims I met along the way were able to separate their disapproval of the US Government's Israeli run Foreign policy from their disapproval of individual Americans.

While most of the conversations I had centered around the fascination the Muslims I met had with American movies, American cars, American music, life in different Western countries etc, the two questions I was most frequently asked were:
1. "Why does America suddenly hate us?"
And:
2. "Why does America help the Israelis kill the Palestinians and steal their land?"

I tried to explain the degree to which Israeli lobbies have control over US Foreign Policy and the degree to which many Americans are professionally deceived by pro Israel MSM but the Muslims couldn't understand how people as clever and sophisticated as Americans could be so easily duped and manipulated nor can I.

Since I just happened to wander into the Levant in time for the '73 War, I was stuck in Southern Lebanon where I lived in and around Palestinian refugee cams.
It was there and only there that I was able to talk with Nakba survivors and see their tattered, old photographs of murdered family members, former homes, farms, olive groves etc that had been stolen and / or destroyed by Nazi trained and armed foreign Zionist terrorist gangs.

While I'm sure that there are people here who have done far more remarkable things, I don't know of any forum member who has had a similar exposure to the real Islamic world or spoken with as many Nakba survivors.

This thread, however, is about the USS Liberty attack which, as a combat Veteran who joined the US Army just 2 years after what I am convinced was both deliberate and still salient, today.

The fact that any foreign government has so deeply infected our government to the extent that it threatens a US President to be complicit in the deliberate murder of disarmed American G.Is should seriously concern any loyal American.

Finally, I've posted several facts that confirm the Israeli attack on a clearly marked American ship was deliberate.

- No one has been able to explain how IDF could "accidentally" machine gun lowered life rafts for the Liberty's wounded at close range.

- No one has been able to explain why an ethical Israeli pilot refused orders to attack a known American ship and was punished for not committing a treacherous war crime.
