After doing a bit of research, the Egyptians DID actually purchase two Victory Ship Hulls (the hull the USS Liberty was based on) after World War 2. They were initially operated as commercial liners, then Nassir nationalized the shipping industry and they were reduced to hauling freight.

One of them burned and was sold to Liberia in 1963.

Democrats settled that a long time ago. And as you researched, I had already done what you did and posted here yesterday that Egypt bought liberty ships. I even posted a photo of the ship attacked by Israel and noted it was a Liberty ship.

Us spy ships are not very effective if they identify themselves to the enemy forces. The firing was not an accident. But the pilots believed it was a ship owned by Egypt. Democrats were paid off anyway. Democrats accepted the story once Israel explained it and the US was paid millions of dollars. Not to bring the dead back to life, but to award damages to the injured families.

IT wasn't that kind of spy ship, guy. It wasn't pretending to be something else, like the USS Pueblo was when the Norks captured her.

It's job was to pick up and record radio signals. That was it.

Except not exactly. It was not a nationwide internment. It only applied to the three Pacific Coast states. Japanese Americans in Hawaii were free to go about their business. (Probably because at the time, they made up 37% of Hawaii's population and rounding them up just wasn't practical.

Do you also believe there is no way the two American F-15 pilots could have accidentally shot down the two Black Hawk helicopters by somehow mistaking them for Soviet-made Hind helicopters in the 1994 Black Hawk shootdown incident, given the fact that they were clearly marked with American flags and that the Black Hawk is easily distinguishable from the Hind? See my previous reply on that egregious, baffling friendly fire incident. To this day, some family members of the some of the foreign passengers on the two Black Hawks claim the shootdown was intentional. They make all the same arguments you do about the alleged "impossibility" of failing to recognize the target as American.

It is worth repeating again that every reputable historian who has examined the USS Liberty incident has concluded it was a tragic case of friendly fire. Every U.S. Government investigation into the incident has reached the same conclusion.

I have much more trouble discussing the Torpedo attacks than I have attacks from the air. First Israel first flew around the ship not so much as attacking it. That ship happens to from the air look so much like a spy ship who blames Israel for later attacking our ship. At least the Democrats stopped going off on Israel and for the surviving families collected millions of dollars. See Joe, you are not a pilot. You proved it when you blamed the passenger jet that got hit by the Helicopter. Both were friendly aircraft. But the Helicopter was on the wrong path and caused both of them to crash. Imagine this was an Israel plane flown by those you hate so much. You sure pick the bad groups to like a hell of a lot.
