USMB Coffee Shop IV

Saturday morning!

Stash you pot o' gold carefully.

Let the cartoon begin!

.

I remember when my nephew learned his first joke, at age five. I wish I had a dollar for every time that kid told the joke. We all humored him and laughed every time.

Q. -- What do you call Irish lawn chairs?

A. -- Patty O'Furniture

My goodness OhPleaseJustQuit, we've been sharing thoughts at USMB for so long it didn't occur to me that you weren't a Coffee shopper. But I just realized you weren't on the roster--you are now--so welcome to the Coffee Shop!!! Hope you'll keep coming back and keep right on joining in.

As this is St. Patty's day we'll make your first timer's complimentary beverage a special one. :)

Hombre and I don't drink alcohol anymore, but back in the day tried a lot of different and fun cocktails when we were out and about. The fuzzy leprechaun is one of the few that I recall what's in it:
peach schnapps
blue curacao
orange juice
Apparently that combination makes the bright green color. I think some recipes also add vodka and pineapple juice as well but it's not required.

Sounds pretty, if not tasty. I don't think I've ever tasted curacao.

Occasionally had green beer or Irish coffee on St. Paddy's Day.

Curacao is a liqueur made from a unique fruit from the Island of Curacao just north of the Venezuelan coast. The fruit descended from oranges introduced there. The climate or soil or something wasn't good for oranges and the trees and fruit morphed into something quite different. The fruit itself I'm told is inedible but the peel can be used and curacao is made from that dried peel. It tastes sweet and also slightly bitter. But paired with the sweet peach schnapps and orange juice it is pretty good.

I've never gotten into the green beer but do (or did) love Irish coffee.

Albuquerque yesterday and today. That isn't fog folks. It's dust and other flying debris, the likes of which I've never seen before here and we've lived here since 1984.

No, just hurricane force straight winds.
.

Just as frightening.

We had a wind called a derecho, here in South Dakota, blowing sand that made the sky dark. There must have been debris -- a relative of a relative was killed when a tree branch smashed through the windshield of her car.

Yup. This year has been the windiest in at least 25 years.

LOL. Now I'm struggling to decide whether to reprimand OhPleaseJustQuit and westwall for grossly and severely and blatantly violating the rules against no politics in the Coffee Shop. :) But technically climate change is in and of itself not political. So I won't. 😁 (Love you guys.)
