Chicken pox can resurface in later life as shingles. Those who were asymptomatic, may have lingering damage in their vascular systems, whether they know it or not. Germany has 85 million people in a geographic area slightly smaller than the State of Montana. As for "red tape", Germany and South Korea has some of the most stringent drug approvals in the world. The USA is loosey goosey in comparison. The USA has had "accelerated" approvals sine 2017. Trump's American made testing failed, but Dr. Redfield is unqualified to run the CDC. Trump fired the previous head of the CDC for "disloyalty" and replaced her with Redfield. Sorry to say this but even that statistic is complete crap. You don’t measure the mortality rate with “confirmed cases”. It is far more accurate to use serology testing to see what percentage of the population has had the disease. In Arizona that is up to 5.7%, which means over 410,000 people have had it (compared to 187k “confirmed cases). That puts the mortality rate at 1%.

The mortality rate for people under 65 in AZ is 0.02%.
