- Too many people are ingrained with private insurance.
- Education is not free. Becoming a doctor is expensive, they want to get paid and pay off potential student loans. Working for the Gov't does not do that.
- Private pay provides better care. Even in Europe, the wealthy go that route.
- Most logical people (on both sides of the aisle) agree with #1 and #2 and #3.
Okay, here's the problem with those arguments.
1) Most people who have private insurance have them through their jobs.. They lose their jobs, they lose their insurance. They are hardly "Ingrained". In fact, only 5% of Americans get insurance through private policies.
2. Education isn't the issue here. When was the last time you had an American doctor? At one point, I had three doctors named "Patel", that's how few Americans are going to Medical School anymore.
Fixing our education system is a completely separate issue.
3. Yes, if you have a shitload of money, you can get really good care. You can also get a nice car, a nice house and a hot spouse half your age. What is your ******* point?
The point is, with private insurance through your employer, you get whatever they decide to give you, and because these insurance companies are about making money, they use all sort of tricks to not pay.
