I was surprised at this. One would think that liberal states like California, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey would have lower unemployment rates, but they're actually higher than most others. The lowest unemployment in the US is currently North Dakota, at 1.9%.

"After several months’ worth of sharp interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve, the nation’s jobless rate moved higher in January. But at less than 4%, the share of the labor force looking for work remains at historically low levels."

i hear ya....the county i used to live in had more people than many states....3.1 million....
