It is true, Ukraine was massively pro-nazi during WWII. Stalin starved the people of Ukraine during the 1930s, and the Soviets gunned down civilians for little or no reason. When the Germans invaded the Soviet Union, Ukrainians welcomed the Germans with open arms. They viewed them as liberators from the Russians. They despised the Russians with every fiber of their being. The Waffen SS* took recruits from Ukraine, and the German army used partisan fighters. After the Germans were pushed back, the Russians took their anger out on Ukrainians, by murder, rape and pillaging food and supplies. The Ukrainians have never forgot the abuse the Russians gave them for decades.
Today, the new boogey-man among pro-russians is the Asov Battalion. The Asov Battalion was formed in 2014 by a massively racist man. This is no surprise as Slavic peoples are notoriously racist. Did you know, that Russia has one of the biggest populations of neo-nazis in the world?
