Well, what you describe is closer to capitalism, where there are no classes and any person can rise to great wealth and success. Communism (based on socialism) is almost exactly the opposite, where a person is born into their roll in society, and can not achieve more than the ruling class decides to give them, no matter how hard that person works or how great their abilities.
