It's pretty obvious at this point Trump had a plan to overthrow the government. It's unfortunate our founding fathers didnt envision the human garbage that is trump. All you needed was Pence to say yes to trump to decertify the election. Pence had to lol seek council on whether this could be done or not so we werent that far from it becoming a reality. Then you had the mob there to physically force everyone to sign off on whatever.

they would have failed if senate exonerated Trump, instead they just acquitted. Which means the senate didnt do their duty.

Get Pence to decertify the seven states that put Biden over the top (or simply delay the count for several days) and try to get it thrown into the Supreme Court where Trump was counting on Alito Thomas and his three recently appointed Justices to rule in his favor.

Unfortunately for that plan Pelosi refused to be bullied...and Pence refused to be bullied...and the election was certified that night.

Republicans bristle about the Nixon affair. Progs would not do that to one of their own unless offered up as a something that will make no difference to their agendas. Republicans forced Nixon's resignation. His campaign was caught red handed stealing campaign info from the DNC. He lied about his involvement to his own party for years. Trump was impeached because of his attempted attack on the Democrats by trying to strong arming a foreign leader into performing a politically corrupt act that would harm Joe Biden and the Democrats, and for his part in the siege and occupation of the Capital.

OTOH, following the Rabid Right (Neo-GOP) doctrine, nothing Biden can do will cause the Dems to convict and remove him from office.

Trump's coup was already a popular success at the polls, but Democrat government workers on strike refused to count the ballots for Trump, and instead they substituted other, fake, forged, and altered ballots for Biden, on Canadian-incorporated Dominion voting machines making connections to Germany and other foreign countries to administer a fraudulent ballot count for the 2020 general election in the U.S.
