Briefing Donald Trump as he prepared to enter the White House was more difficult than briefing any other incoming president, a book published by the CIA said.

The publication, "Getting to Know the President," by John L. Helgerson, a former intelligence officer, charted different presidents' interactions with intelligence agencies.

In it, Helgerson wrote: "For the Intelligence Community, the Trump transition was far and away the most difficult in its historical experience with briefing new presidents."

The CIA should've commissioned a cartoon. trump could've followed that.

Are you surprised trump is so stupid?

Scary .

He knew enough to distrust the CIA only he didn't know how right he was. Our intelligence agencies have been totally corrupted at the top levels and it took the Trump Presidency to reveal just how bad it is at the CIA and the FBI.
Yep. I'm thinking that when they first brief Trump, he was asking them questions that they did not want to be answered and that previous Presidents were political enough to know that they shouldn't be asking those kinds of questions.

Trump is irrational and paranoid.. His theme for over 40 years is that the system is rigged against him... And, basically Trump does't have enough education to know what the CIA or FBI or lawyers or generals or US intelligence is talking about.

He covers that up with his conspiracy theories.

Does the CIA sell other books and can I buy the whole set? And does everyone at the CIA write them or just one person there?

CIA gave up trying to explain things

You mean the same CIA who:
  1. Had no idea Afghanistan would fall in a day?
  2. Had no idea about the Wuhan virus?
  3. Had no knowledge of the Chinese global steerable space nuclear missiles or the Russian Zircon Hypersonic missile?
  4. Was totally caught by surprise by 9/11?
You mean Trump had a hard time buying everything these people were try to sell?

General Flynn was going to fix the CIA. We know what happened to General Flynn.
Maybe Hillary's illegal bathroom server is where she kept her super-secret CIA info?
Oh, that was hacked...nevermind.
She had "no intent" to circumvent FOIA when she setup that illegal server....uh-huh.

Trump cannot read and has a very short attention span
If you look at the organization Trump built, you can see he has business skills.
However, you are right that Trump doesn't like to read tons of factoids.
Pompeo figured out that to get your points across to Trump you need brief, interesting powerpoint presentations with a few highlights and key points.

If you give him tons of reading material, he doesn't have the time to read it.

So he can read, but prefers powerpoint presentations.

Joe Xiden never reads anythng except the teleprompter when told to read. See the difference? Xiden is a "figurehead". Trump was the "president".
