Then why didn't the two officers IN FRONT OF THE DOORS, or the SWAT team in the stairwell open fire? Both groups were in far more danger than the members of the House or Byrd were. None of them saw imminent danger to life which is the standard for the use of deadly force.

If protestors breach a police line, force entry into the building by breaking windows, smashing doors, and killing the cops defending it with the intention of harm to the leaders within then yes, they should face lethal force.
