Once an impartial jury sees that video in its entirety and compares it to the edited version released by the Jan 6th commission, Byrd is toast. The government will pay out tens of millions to her family and Byrd will be brought up on murder charges in a criminal trial.

I fully agree there are lessons to be learned. This is something we did in the military after every big mission, examine what worked, what didn't and change plans to improve. No disagreement there.

But Lt. Byrd should, and will be judged, according to the context and conditions at the time that the violent mob was breaking through the last law enforcement barrier prior to gaining access to the House Chamber. In THAT context his actions were correct and no jury in the world will convict him of any criminal action. Which is what some in this thread have called for.
