That's funny, truly it is. The United States spent years decimating Southeast Asian countries right under China's nose, dropping more bombs on Laos than were dropped aby all the allies during WW2. In reality, the war has reached a bloody stalemate, neither side seems to have the means to achieve their desired goals.

So, a negotiated end to the fighting, makes sense for both sides.

THe alternative is to just piss away vast numbers of lives and money for no reason.
