"Woman fatally stabbed on Atlanta train in ‘senseless’ daylight attack, suspect arrested

An Atlanta train passenger was stabbed to death during a “senseless” daylight attack Saturday afternoon, before cops swiftly arrested the suspect.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s Oakland City Station just after 12 p.m., where they found the unidentified woman suffering from the suspected stabbing, Fox Atlanta reported.

First responders began rendering aid to the wounded rider before she was pronounced dead.

“This appears to be a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones and those who witnessed this horrific incident,” MARTA officials said in a statement, according to the outlet.

Officials have not released the identity of the victim or the suspected stabber."

This reminds me of the stabbing murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It will be interesting to see who the killer is and if they have mental illness and/or a criminal history.
Reading the article, it is clear that Atlanta's trains are unsafe due to violence.

Typical result of a catch and release system.
I bet we find out the suspect has a long history with law enforcement.

I am fortunate to not live in a major city although I'm close to Columbus OH, which is beginning to suffer some of the same ills that every blue city does; high crime, ridiculous taxes, corruption, etc.
If for whatever reason I did live in a major metro area, I would be armed at all times.
And I would be looking to move.

P.S. Even though I live in a relatively safe suburb, I'm still armed at all times.

Why would ya ride the choo choo ? You're trapped and criminals are always present
