No the US didn’t. The communists did by murdering all the opposition in the north and driving dissidents into south Vietnam. Russia didn’t support anyone against the Japanese. AFTER the war the Soviets created/ backed communist forces all over Asia. The PRVN was the creature of the USSR, created to spread communism all over South East Asia.
