Trump Thinks He Humiliated Zelensky. He Really Humiliated the United States

I am Canadian and it's been clear to me for some time that the American taxpayer wants out of endless wars around the globe.

We need a sovereign, solvent America for the big threat that is China.

Trump is going to have to get back to focusing on tariffs, DOGE and dealing with other issues, he can't keep dragging a horse to the water only to be hoodwinked. Once Zelensky is ready for help that Europe will NOT provide he can call Trump back.
The EU cannot wage war against russia without the US

And it will be little help when we are at war sith china

Trump is trying to end a war that cant be won

That blather must be why Putin invaded Ukraine. Lol
I would rather he didn't. And he did. And that is his sphere of influence. Access through the black sea with ease. And frankly, if the Western world did not treat the former Soviet Union like shit things may be different. Russia is always going to have its autonomy. What we have done is put more NATO nations into play closer to Russia. That is not good.

The more I think about Zelenkys unwillingness to sign a critical first step deal with the U.S and hear of the leaks of frustratioin Biden had with him, the more I realize that it might be best to just sit this out, rebuild U.S stockpiles and let the E.U handle this war. Some.of these decisions for permanent war could sink America, is that the goal some have? Even Graham knows that the U.S cant keep this up infinitely.
Signing the "deal" grants the US rights to Ukraine resources, huge rights. What does it grant Ukraine? nothing, just hot air and vague allusions to "American support", why sign it?

Would you sign a deal with me to let me have access to your home with nothing in return except some vague verbal promise that I'll repay you in some way some time?

The Ukrainians need to understand that Trump is useless to them, he will never commit militarily to them and confront Russia with US weapons or "peacekeeping" troops, Trump will never do that so he's no use, Ukraine must accept that and work without the US.

STFU and go sign up to secure Ukraine's border, chickenhawk.

Democrats accuse repubs of being "putin puppets", and hate america...but it sure seems like dems are "zelensky puppets" and hate America. As bad as putin is...zelensky isn't exactly a great example of anti corruption.

Seems both sides have their perceptions.

"It was an ugly display of foreign policy crudeness the likes of which we have never seen transpire in the White House. It is tempting to call it inept. But it was not. It achieved precisely the goal that Putin and Trump had long sought, to produce a public break between the United States and Ukraine that would directly and meaningfully support Russia’s illegal, brutal conquest of its neighbor.

Trump and Vance, however, were rebuffed by Zelensky in important ways. When the Americans sought to perpetuate lies that have been a staple of Kremlin propaganda and Trump campaign speeches, Zelensky stood up to them. He refuted the idea that Ukraine provoked Russia’s invasion.

He rejected the ahistorical nonsense that Putin only invaded Ukraine because he sensed former president Joe Biden’s weakness. He reminded those viewing the encounter on U.S. national television that in fact Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 (a point on which Trump embarrassingly tried to correct him) and that the war raged for all four years Trump was in office the last time. He pointed out that he sought a diplomatic solution only to have Putin violate the terms of deals that had been struck.

With each correction Trump and Vance grew more furious and out of control. Trump vainly tried to intimidate a man who has stood up to far worse since he assumed Ukraine’s presidency."

Yes, concur.

All the old dinosaurs that knew how to run things and / or had a smidgeon of ethics are dead. We are just winging it with con men and thieves.

Thats a very good idea

We will soon need all the military stockpiles we have for our own defense
The US faces internal ideological threats not external, no nation is militarily seeking to attack the United States. Nothing can be done for the US, it is collapsing, losing respect of its allies, making enemies of Canada, China, Greenland, Panama and now Ukraine and Europe.

If God really did put trump in charge it's to destroy the US not make it "great again", even a fool can see that but not the blind, not the deaf, not magats.

It's position as "leader of the free world" is over now, it's a has been.

Hey, If any of them have a plan how to "win" this war and get Putin out of Ukraine, we're all ears.

Luxembourg announced they will stand by Ukraine.

How? Boots in the ground?

Have you seen the size of that country?

What show were you watching? Zelensky came across like an entitled street beggar whining about having to do anything but the status quo from the previous administration where billions are paid out perpetually with no accountability.

Take Trump and Vance out of it….. how long is the American taxpayer expected to keep this up? Blindly sending billions annually with no progress is not a strategy.
