The Japanese journalist is a political correspondent for a left-leaning TV station (TV Asahi) that is known for its anti-government stance. He intended to insult both Trump and Takaichi with that provocative question just as a CNN reporter would do to Trump. Trump was right to punch him back with the Pearl Harbor joke.
